Default Proposal to erect-XXX Domain Name

ICANN is once again preparing to evaluate the possibility of creating a controversial top-level domain (TLD ); arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060319-6411.html

Appropriate wording of the title there

Anyway, I don't really see the point in introducing yet another TLD. There are easily enough at the moment and the majority of website hostings that would be interested in the .xxx extension most likely already own the .com/net/etc. equivalent, kind of defeating the purpose of introducing the new TLD.

Good to see that it was refused again.

Would this really be of much use anyway?

I have always believed "If people want to do / access something badly enough (such as XXX content) they will find a way, no matter what obsticles are in there way!".

Plus as well, I don't think the adult website hostings will like this one bit as popular names would be wanted by more than one company whereas at the moment each popular name can be registered under loads of TLDs such as .com .co.uk .us etc for loads of different companies
