Question Questions ~ domain propagation?

Hi All,
I have just transfered my tomain to Eukhost, I have now pased the 72 hours and still see pages hosted on my old server !

When I ping I get the correct ip back (92.48.97.5) but ~

perfectparrots.co.uk/cpanel returns error 404
(can access cpanel using 92.48.97.5/cpanel)

and as mentioned just visiting my site still shows pages on my old server ( now set to a plain text "still the old server" index.html )

I would expect to see the Eukhost welcome to your site index.php ! as I havn't uploaded anything yet.

Any ideas??

Rgds Stuart.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for your reply
I have just cleared my browser history and deleted all links to my site from my favorites and I see the new site !!

Now I have to figure out how to let all the members of my forum to do this or redirect them some how?

Rgds Stuart.

(ps. I used to be with streamline.net an awful host and trying to get them to reboot their dns servers would be impossibable)

Glad to see it's all working now.

Sometimes your ISP holds a DNS cache, so you may have to wait for them to flush their DNS cache before propagation is complete. However, both windows and linux also hold DNS cache.

For future reference, if you are using Windows, you can run this command from the command prompt to flush the dns cache:

Quote:
ipconfig /flushdns
