Default Some domain name advice please!

Hi i'm looking for some advice please, i have a client who registered 2 domain names a year and a half ago, through a web design company who used 123-reg.co.uk as the registra.

I've asked the company to either point the 2 domain names to a new namesserver or transefer the domain names in to my clients own 123-reg account.

The response i got was that it would cost £25, which i thought was a bit over the top for a 30 second job.

I've been in touch with both Nominets and 123-reg who are both saying there's nothing they can do.

the Whois info does have my clients details listed. is there anything else i can do?

£25 to change the namesevers is not only stupidly expensive - but seems somehow unethical. nameserver address is a basic requirement for any domain - that's shocking that they'd try to charge so much.
When the sites were registered, did your client receive an email from nominet with login details for that domain? I'm not sure, but you might be able to change the IPSTAG from there? Not sure though.

If the client is the one who owns the domains, regardless of who registered them, i would advise them to talk to Nominet directly, they may be able to help with getting control of them.

Thanks guys - I've had chat with nominets, there is a process to do this, but again it cost a tenner, which i guess is better than £25.

I think i'll suggest to my client, that we just go and buy another domain name. The other 2 run out in the summer, so we might be able to re-register them then.
