Unsafe Domain Name
A new report identify dangerous domain name that include ".hk" (Hong Kong), ".cn" (China) and ".info" (information). Google is also on their way for filtering out all .info sites. Many webmaster found their .info website hosting is disappearing from google.
.jp (Japan) and au" (Australia) seems safest, it has been reported least risky with 0.1 & 0.3 percent flagged up respectively. More report; news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080604/ap_on_hi_te/tec_dangerous_domains

Good article! This may be an issue to do with the cheap domain registration pricing of .info? I think this issue is already well known to people so it's confusing to why they're pointing it out now than before... even if you search Google you'll find many lists of .cn domain sites so I don't think Google is doing anything to help really...

Yes that is because their lower cost for registration and lesser requirements, also I think both .hk & .cn were cctld but later made available for global registration that could be another reason spammer get them easily.

Google generally filter out unsafe website hosting regardless to the tld. However such report will keep google more alert for flagged tld's website hostings and people will also fear to browse them.

Don't know if Google will completely remove the TLDs but may give a warning (as they do with sites that have viruses) before and if they do click one. Funny enough Ask.com doesn't do the same; was trying to find an online translator - thought I found one, well I did actually - but the web site hosting had a JavaScript virus or some other sort - so unsure if only Google gives warnings regards to search engine results...

Yahoo too warn users for potentially unsafe site, it is prime responsibility of any search engine to warn users for a web site hosting which carry malicious code or do scam.

TBH, I'm surprised the figure isn't higher.
I'm not being funny but what dodgy dealings have we not seen the government involved in in the news and privately!

Is there anything left for them to do?
Everything bad I can think of, they've already done. I guess thats why the news no longer surprises me very much.
Headlines such as "MP pays Rent Boy for night of steamy drug fueled passion", "Top backbencher involved in the scamming of defenceless pensioners", "Prime Ministers office spends £3 million on specially imported, specially embossed napkins" don't surprise me anymore....
