Default Hello all

Hi all,

I've been using euk hosting for a while but new to the forums so - hello!

I'm going to start trying to set up servlets/jsp for an android related project so it'd be great if anyone could forward any documentation links to tomcat/jsp etc on eukhost. I can of course find all the standard apache docs but am interested in specifics for euk.

Thanks and happy Christmas all,
Ewan

Hi Ewan,

Welcome to eUKhost forum community.

I see that you have a Linux Shared Hosting Account. We have Apache Tomcat installed on our servers which is required by many domain names for Servlet/JSP web application. Please contact our Linux Support Team via Live Chat or email at support [@] eUKhost.com, and, our technical admin will check if the servlets are installed for your domain name.

If the servlet is installed for your hosting account then you will see /public_html/WEB-INF/ folder under your account. You will have to upload the .war files in this folder for your application. Once you upload it, we just need to restart the tomcat service, and it will automatically deploy your application on server at /usr/local/jakarta/tomcat/webapps/ location and will run your application from there.

For your information the tomcat service will work for your domain only when it points to that server because it is a name based service and not IP based. For Java hosting you will need MySQL and PostgreSQL databases and the host provider should support Java Servlets, Java Beans, Struts, Java Server Pages, J2EE/EJB, JDBC, Cocoon etc. eUKhost supports all these applications.

You may refer to the below link for some more information on Tomcat.

How to Install & Enable tomcat for an account [WHM]?

Wish you Seasonal Greetings for the coming Christmas...
