Hi there,

Decided I didn't really need to be paying $149 for a dedicated server in the exploding datacentres of theplanet.net. Went hunting for a decent cpanel UK provider last night and liked a lot of the reviews of eukhost. Also the website hosting is very fast, so this should be a good sign I hope

So, I placed my order for a cpanel reseller acct in the early hours of this morning. Any idea how long it takes? I can't add funds to pay the invoice yet as it says my order is still pending, which is fine as it was placed less than 12 hours ago I guess.

I've plenty more questions to ask once my order is processed, don't worry

Yes - I heared about the planet explosion. Second electrical explosion there in 5 years - dodgy.

I believe the first electrical problem was an explosion at a sub-station in the DC car park, back in the days when the DC itself was owned by EV1 - at that time none of the hosted servers went offline since the UPS systems were deployed. This time, I believe that it was a UPS itself which exploded, although I'm not totally sure about that; but what I am sure about is that the local FD aren't allowing them to fire up their diesel generators meaning that the servers in the DC have remained offline for several days already - this time the place is owned by TP.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Worked out how to pay now, I was clearly a bit bleary eyed from working til the early hours and completely blind to the bank details on the invoice. Hopefully it'll clear tomorrow and I'll be on the first steps towards migrating over.

I expect to have fun switching DNS as I can't even log on to theplanet's domain name area, it must have been affected by the explosion. If they ever resolve the problem I'll get it switched over ASAP.

Right, I guess I should dig around these forums some more and familiarise myself with my new home.
