Hi folks,

First of all, I have to say that EUKHost simply roxxors

I thought at first that this whole thing would be a bit confusing for a relative newcomer like me, but so far the tech support here has been spot on.

Anyway, here's a brief bit about me saying hello.......

I'm 35, getting married next year to my long term partner, Lesley. She has been waiting for 19 years for me to finally ask her to walk up the aisle with me and I managed to pluck up the courage at a friends wedding reception a few weeks ago and ask her ( with a wee bit of help from the Turbo Gins I was drinking !!! ).

I'm a full time firefighter with Central Scotland Fire and Rescue. A USAR and Line Rescue specialist. Have been doing that for over 17 years now. Seen a lot of sad stuff, but still enjoy doing it.

I'm a bit of a PC "Geek" and have recently started my own PC upgrade/repair and network installation business in my spare time.

I'm also doing website hostings for local small businesses which is why I found myself here and choosing EUKHost.

As well as being into PC's etc, I'm nutz about World Superbikes and British Superbikes. I own and ride an Aprilia RSV Mille 1000 ( Hence the user name ).

Just wish the weather would get a wee bit better so I could use the bike more !!!.

Thats about it from me, glad to be here, these forums are an absolute god send for info and help.

I am somewhat surprised that you made her wait for 19 years

Its really difficult to find a girl who can wait for you for so long. You are lucky

In this forum you will find some hot topics too. It's good that you are here now to take care of them with 17 yrs of experience

Yes it is one of the admorable jobs to have. I have a lot of relatives who are in the emergency services. What we do without them!

Thanks for the nice welcome, had forgotten about this thread a wee bit, sorry!!!

As I've said a million times before, EUKHost are superb.

So glad I signed up with you guys, I recommend you to anyone looking for hosting as I have been so impressed with the support and package here.

Thanks for the kind words re: my full time job.

I love it to bits, but sadly, the way things have been going lately with cutbacks and ridiculous changes to procedures etc, its not the same job it used to be. We are slowy plodding along like every other brigade in the UK, but sometimes it seems like a lost cause.

The UK fire service is still the best in the world, but thats down to the guys at the sharp end. The ones in charge at the highest level are no longer firefighters, many are civilian "bean counters" looking to save money wherever they can and running fire authorities like they are running a business, which just isnt right.

But thats another story and I'll save my ranting for other forums....!!!!.

This sounds like a story I have heard before - From knowing people in the service I can quite agree with you and some of the things that are pointed out are quite scary!
