403 probs and tickets
I have a new vps server with you. I rang tech support with a 403 problem on my sites. They have opened a ticket for me and I received a copy of what they said, but it is not correct to my problem. I went to add a post to that ticket but can't get to it. When I go to my client area it just says there are no open tickets.
The number is AVW-90785-843

Hi Jill,
I've managed to isolate the problem by changing permission of "public_html" folder for both the domains.
Both websites are working fine now.

Thank you but I cannot log in. I guess that you have to register separately for support area? So I don't know what to register as in order to find the opened ticket.
I tried live chat, Eric answered so I gave my problem, but had no reply or comment back so after over 8 minutes of sitting watching the screen had to go do something else. When I looked at the screen again Eric had finally answered but because I didn't reply he closed the session.
In the meantime I have now had a reply from tech support so am conversing by mail that way.
Guess I will now go register with support as well.
I have to admit I am very concerned as my clients sites are down when the ping points to this new server. I just hope and pray they don't notice!

Thank you Scott but sadly the sites are not working. DNS is jumping back and forth from my old server to new. When a site is pointing to the new server it gives a 403 error. It is NOT just two sites - it is all of them.

Hello,
We have checked your sites randomly. Your sites are working fine. We are checking your other sites and will upddate you accordingly.
Your sites are pointing to the new VPS. I have updated you with the same on your support ticket.

Hello,
We have checked these two sites using different networks and browsers. Its working fine all over. It seems to be a cache problem at your end.
Remove your browser cache.
and also do the following
your local machine >> start >> run >> type "cmd" you'll get command prompt >> type the following on your command prompt.
C:\>ipconfig /flushdns
You can reply us in the ticket if the problem still persists. In the mean while we are working on your other sites and will let you know when it is done.

Thank you Ronon - Yes - those two sites ARE working ok as I said in my email. However, NONE OF MY OTHER SITES ARE WORKING.
Sorry, don't mean to shout just emphasise. Your tech support who opened the ticket was wrong in that it was only two sites that threw the 403 - it was all of them.
So, to recap...
freewebbargains and bedtimebedcentre are OK
ALL other sites are throwing 403 error
Yes, I flushed dns and yes I am still getting the 403
