'AVG Free' would be a good choice, there are few others I'd recommend, DrWeb, QuickHeal, F-Secure & McAfee as they are one of the most reputed AntiVirii tools..

Thumbs up Hey

Hey,

Virtuozzo supports a wide range of antivirus software products. In order to ensure flawless interaction with Virtuozzo for Windows. Antivirus installed on the node protects all conatiners (VPS Hosting's) automatically.

We have already installed Symantec Antivirus and we manually scans all our Hardware nodes once in a week.

Antivirus scan / installation on VPS Hosting requires much resources and sometimes it overloads VPS Hosting. AV engines, when checking files, impersonate the creators of the files, therefore there might be a short delay between a moment when a file is opened and when it should be checked for viruses. If a VPS Hosting is stopped or restarted during the delay the data become unavailable and this leads to a system failure.

If you are having Plesk control panel then you can go for Dr. Web Antivirus which will scan your VPS Hosting including emails. DrWeb Anti-Virus provides reliable, efficient and cost effective protection of your customers mailboxes against worms, Trojans and other damaging viruses.

Unfortunately it appears most anti-virus apps out there will not be compatible with my VPS Hosting due to service packs aren't installed.

I am informed that if i install the service packs from windows update my VPS Hosting will fail to reboot - is this correct? if so what is the best way to get the packs installed with minimal downtime ?

Thanks for your previous replies!

Yes, Service Packs and Windows updates are not recommended on VPS Hosting's.

No worries, our new Hardware nodes are having Service pack 2 OS templates installed on them. Email us on VPS Hosting@eukhost.com with your VPS Hosting IP and we will get back to you with the exact solution. If required, we will migrate your VPS Hosting on new Hardware node.
