camd3 - overloading main server (suspended)

Hi there,

One of our VPSs has been suspended without warning. Apparently an application called camd3 was overloading the main server.

I have never heard of camd3 or installed anything like it (only using PHP web scripts and MySQL on the server, and nothing else), so I was wondering whether I've been hacked or it's a virus?

After a bit of research, it looks like it's a streaming protocol (so most likely we're hacked)

Anyway VERY lucky this was our development VPS, not a customer's live one. If a customer's VPS were to get shut down without warning like this, we would be very annoyed!

I would be glad if the VPS would be restored, and any tips on how to secure the VPS better?

It looks like it was another VPS that was overloading the server, and our VPS was just suspended by mistake. It's confirmed we never had camd3.
