Default Can a senior engineer look at this

I can't seem to get past 1st line support with this one, so can someone senior please take a look at this. If you are not willing to help me with this issue then just say so and I will try direct. Case number is #EXY-42224-117

Helpdesk support seem a little abrupt this morning.

I have just bought a Nokia e72 smartphone which uses the Symbian operating system and I was planning on using this to support my VPS servers with you.

Using the built in web browser, I can connect and use successfully the PLESK website of my VPS, but when I attempt to connect to the Parallels Power Panel website it fails. I get the error "Unable to perform Operation" as soon as it tries to connect. I have tried it on all 3 of my VPS servers and get the same error.

For example

https://###MyServerIP####:8443 will work but https://####MyServerIP####:4643 will not work.

This is not a port being blocked issue, it is an issue with a specific type of client.

I am connecting my phone via my personal WiFi to test this and I know that this port is not being bloced as I can connect to it using a Laptop using the same WiFi network.

Can you provide any advice on how to work around this? If it is an issue with Parallels, can you pass this on for me as I am sure a lot of webmasters are going to want to support their VPS servers via phone in the future.

Hello,

I have already forwarded your issue to swsoft / parallel engineers but haven't received any reply yet from them. Meanwhile I have checked your VPS settings and hardware node settings but didn't find any restrictions. Finally, I also tried accessing Virtuozzo on my own mobile "HTC Diamond" and succeeded.

Sent you the screenshots of my mobile in "Ticket #EXY-42224-117".

Thanks for looking into this, The HTC is a windows mobile device where mine is the Symbian OS. I suspect that the parallels server handles the initial web conection unusually and the symbian browser just can't handle it.

A coleague mentioned that you can download an opera browser for the symbian so I will give that a try tonight and let you know.

Hello,

We have received reply from swsoft / parallel engineers. As I have provided them Node and VPS access so they have checked all possible configurations and haven't found any issue on the node or on VPS. This is related with Mobile application.

Yes, please try installing Opera Mini™ on your mobile. Opera Mini Web browser uses a remote server to pre-process Web pages before sending them to your phone. It has all the features expected of a browser, and more, such as content download, skinning, bookmarks, browsing history. In addition, Opera Mini recognizes your phone and optimizes Web pages accordingly to provide faster browsing. Other option is Opera mobile, you can download it from Opera Mobile — Download

Default Fixed at last

Thanks for the help Shane, I tried Opera Mobile and this has the same issue - it immediately errors with "this site is not available at the moment".

I then tried Opera Mini and this works great. I asume it works as there is an intermdiary server which can handle the Virtuozzo site correctly.

There should be a firmware update for my mobile soon so hopefully that will fix the issue in the native browser.

Great.

Very few clients access the vzpp or other panel using mobile. So this is new update for us. We can suggest this to other clients as well. We have also received the confirmation from Parallel's that there is no any specific restrictions on main node to access vzpp panel.
