Default Communication

Does anyone else think that it is reasonable to expect EUKHOST to let VPS Hosting users know about down time?

My server has been up and down like a yo-yo this last week and not once have I had an official notification from anyone.

Surely if work is going to be down on server it is simple enough to email owners to let them know. In the last week I have used chat to find out what is going on and at both times they were aware of the fact the server was down and were 'working on it'. The question is why did I not know?

I swapped here because I am growing the number of clients I have and need more control. I love the package I have but the down times are getting a bit embarrassing!! At least if I had an email everytime you chaps are working on the server I could tell my customers something and look like I have some control over the situation.

cheers

On mine, work usually takes place between 1 / 3 in the morning. Therefore if there is [and so far there isnt't] any downtime, not to many things are effected.

Any notification would be appreciated though.

Hi,

There was a VPS Hosting hosted on same node which was creating problems. I'm not sure how one VPS Hosting creates problems when we have SLM technology on our new nodes, but I'll let you know once I get detailed information from our VPS Hosting Team.

I've managed to get detailed information from our VPS Hosting Team. One VPS Hosting was under heavy DDoS attack which resulted in problem for whole node. SLM has nothing to do in such case as SLM cannot limit DDoS attack for a specific VPS Hosting.

I'm hoping the new server status thing which will be implemented in the new billing system should help with this type of communication.

Im sure it would, however I monitor my own server so its not a requirement of mine.

Would be great for shared hosting.

I also monitor my Dedicated Server but if the announcements section built in to WHMCS can be used for info about server downtime that would also be good as it would mean even those who do monitor things will know the cause and can be kept up to date.

monitoring system has been configured and some servers have been added so far. You can check at http://www.eukhost.com/whmcs/serverstatus.php

I'm not able to figure out how to keep it restricted for customers so that they can check status of their server only. If that doesn't work out then I'll disable this monitoring system.

I wonder if the people from WHMCS could recommend a way of making it available only in the client section?

will ask them later. We've troubled them a lot in last 10 days and you feel bad to ask so much when they charge so less for licensing.
