Default Constant Problem

Now i've been with eukhost since 2007.
Started with a basic shared hosting packagae and worked my way up until I was exceeding my bandwidth limitation a few times.
That was the only issue I had with the hosting here, that is until I upgraded to a Linux VPS package.

All was fine to begin with, then my site began to experience the occassional bit of downtime.
As my site is growing in popularity I added more features.. Nothing that would chew up resources badly. The problems began to increase with memory usage, and from time to time the service would get stuck and therefore need to be restarted.

This was something I could deal with until just recently when the connection to my site and server control panels would slow to a snails pace and time out, or just not connect at all.
After contacting support a few times it was just the service getting stuck.

That was fine until two days ago when I contacted support again after my site was constantly up and down. I was told that it was the usual service needing to be restarted and I would not face anymore issues. Something I was now used to, but it gets better..

Yesterday I am faced with even more downtime, and this time when I contact support I am told that everything is fine and to e-mail vps support so a senior admin can take a look into things. I did just the thing and the senior admin was very helpful spending his time helping me and trying to solve my problem. It turns out there was a network fault which the engineers fixed and I was again assured I would face no other issues.

Approximately one hour went by before the yoyo issues started again. So I jump onto the live chat to contact support. This time I am told everything is fine, and that I have been assigned additional memory which would solve any usage problems. Once again I am told there should be no issues, however if there are I could have my site and everything else migrated. I thought this was great until not long after that when..

Yep. The up, down process started again. Contacted support and was met with an interesting chap. He seemed helpful, but a little bit rude, especially when I asked to speak to someone senior. I was then cut off from chat but not before he told me he had checked everything, which was fine and that I should contact support again if there are any issues, and if there are issues I would have to upgrade or migrate.

It's now been about half an hour since I was cut off and there are no issues, but I won't hold my breath.
My problem is I am very disappointed this is happening. I spent two years on a plan that gives me less than a vps plan and yet here I face all the problems. I have to contact support over and over and be told many different issues. I can't afford to upgrade, but was told there is no issue with the memory. I don't really want to migrate either because I have read posts from other members who have had data loss and have had to wait days for everything to be sorted.

I think eukhost is great, but I am beginning to question what matters most now.
I don't want to take my business elsewhere, but the feeling that I should keeps growing.
I just wants answers to my problems from something other than a live chart support agent.
Please help me.. I'm about to lose my mind.

Hello John

We had live chat conversation regarding problem you are facing with your sites. Accordingly additional memory resources has been assigned to your vps. I thought it should resolve your issue however the problem was not solved. You had again open chat and that time Laurence was dealing with the issue. Unfortunately because of the poor network connection live chat got disconnected. I assure you that you weren't cut off purposely. Now, Laurence has opened ticket on behalf of you, ticket no. EWY-64090-740. We are investigating on it now and will get back to you with positive solution. Please feel free to update the ticket in case if you need further assistance.

I appreciate your help on this matter, and a member of the support team has been in contact via the support ticket.
The solution given is that the vps is migrated, which I am told should stop these issues that I am having.
I have not yet decided on whether to carry a migration out because of my concerns generated through other topics that people have posted in regards to their server being migrated.
Like most people, I have a lot of data, so loss of this data, no matter how small will have a negative impact on my site, and therefore in my eyes deemed inappropriate in regards to a migration.
Another thing that crosses my mind is.. Is there any chance of the data being corrupt?
My database is pretty big, so I could do without any issues.
I admit i'm not a very technical person when it comes to servers, etc as being a law student I am more focused on other things.
But.. There are other techincal issues people have commented on which have caused problems.. Something I would not like to face.
Then there is the amount of downtime.. Hours? Days?
It all costs.. Especially as I am the customer and would be paying for this downtime, which is unsatisfactory considering what has been happening recently.
Overall.. The big question is.. Migration, is it worth it, will there be any trouble?

Hi Jon,

We migrate dozens of VPS's and dedicated servers daily and 99% of the migrations are carried out smoothly. We have certain migration policies for windows as well as linux servers and our staff members strictly follow the policies designed by our migration experts.

You can read the reviews posted by most of our customers in testimonials section, you can check yourself how well their migrations were carried out without any downtime. Hardware gets old every 2 - 3 years and we have to migrate old servers to new servers without downtime. We migrate shared servers with hundreds of accounts without any downtime and some servers we've moved in last had more than 1000 accounts.

Some migrations go wrong when the version of control panel(mainly plesk) on both servers is different. Migration of your VPS will be very simple as you have cpanel control panel and we will hardly need 30 minutes to migrate your VPS.

I would like to reassure you about migration of your Linux VPS. I will personally supervise migration of your VPS and you won't loose any data nor you will face any downtime.

Please let me know if you want me to get someone to start migration of your VPS to a new high specification node.

Hi Jon,

Your VPS has been successfully migrated on a new node. IPs were successfully routed to the new node and all services are working fine on your VPS.

Please check and let us know if you see any post-migration problem with any particular section of your website(s).
