Default Cron Job

I have an hourly cron job and have added > /dev/null to the command line, which on my previous server meant do not send me an output email. But I am getting the email, so could somebody please advise me what I need to do?

TIA
Jill

Hello Jill,

We have investigated and found that you have not added "2>&1" at the end.

By default cron jobs sends an email to the user account after executing the cronjob. If this is not needed put the following command At the end of the cron job line .

>/dev/null 2>&1

We have made the required changes for this, so you will not receive emails regarding cronjob you have set.

Regards,
Jeet_n.

Thank you! I am sure I will come across a few more of these little differences from my previous server, but hopefully not too many!
