Hello,

A virtual private server or VPS Hosting is a method of partitioning one physical server (or dedicated server) into multiple servers that each has the appearance and capabilities of running on its own dedicated machine. Each virtual server can run its own full-fledged operating system, and each server can be independently rebooted.

Virtual private servers bridge the gap between shared web hosting services and dedicated hosting services, giving independence from other customers of the VPS Hosting service in software terms but at less cost than a physical dedicated server.

In Dedicated Hosting you are allowed to use all the resources of Server and also it is not used by anyone. Its independent and completely dedicated to use server. This is not the case with a VPS Hosting. It is same as shared hosting in which the CPU usage is shared by different users on the same server.

yeah but in VPS Hosting and dedicated, you have access to the root MySQL Server pass? or like several roots?
Dedicated is really good but VPS Hosting is cheaper i think huh?

Yes in VPS Hosting you will get the complete root access to all services like you have on dedicated server.

Yes, you can install any 3rd party softwares/applications etc. on a VPS Hosting as you wish as you have root access. You can make your customized configurations too by simply editing the .cnf or .conf files as in case of a dedicated server.
Still there is a major restriction on a VPS Hosting and that is "You cannot modify or update the OS kernel" as the OS installed on the VPS Hosting is in the form of a template provided by their respective providers like VirtuoZZo or OpenVZ. Moreover, these OSs use the kernel from the OS of the main Node (the master server)
