Exclamation Domain resolution problems - anyone else got this?

Hi,

I have a Windows VPS Hosting account, and '.com' domains won't resolve to it at all! I;ve contacted support more than once about this and they've assured me that everything is OK on my side, but I have tried changing the nameserver information for two '.com' domains which are registered through two different registrars, and they won't change to my nameservers for my VPS Hosting!

I've allowed a week on both of them to resolve, and it is really frustrating as there is clearly something wrong with my VPS Hosting nameserver setup but support say there isn;t and two domain registrars cannot be wrong surely?

Has anyone else had this, I need this sorting ASAP, I'm getting it in the neck from clients now!

Are you sure that the nameservers have been registered at the parent servers?

ye they are, I asked EUKHost support to check that I'd done it right and gave them my login details for 123-reg, and they decided to transfer the domain to their 123-reg account!!!

'.co.uk' domains work fine, its just the .com's

the two domains I've tried are:
ssworldtrip.com
morganav.com

It really frustrating me now because no-one seems to know whats going on!

Hello,

Both the domains are not pointing to your VPS Hosting IP's. Nameservers of both the domains are pointing to some other server. You can check the DNS reports of both the domain.
======
http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsre...n=morganav.com
http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsre...sworldtrip.com
======

This shows that there is nothing support can do from here. You have to check this with your registrar.

seems like you have all your domains with different different registrar's. you need to login into control panel of all this registrar's and modify DNS settings to make your domains point to your VPS Hosting nameservers. Its not so easy to understand how DNS works so it would be better if you keep all your domains in 1 place. You are unnecessarily having so much down time and the blame would come on us for not giving good support though we have no need to login in your account with other registrar's and setup nameservers for you.

123-reg do register domain names of .coms etc - but through third parties. So no sure if you registered the .coms through 123-reg or elsewhere.

If through 123-reg then:

In 123-reg domain nameservers for .coms - you have to unlock them first before making any changes (and lock them afterwards). Otherwise it will not go through.

I recently changed nameservers of a .com registered through 123-reg and had no significant problems (when the correct information was supplied).

The main thing is to ensure you unlock it before making the change and lock it afterwards to prevent transfers out.
