Default Drive Warning: /dev/vzfs

Hi all, i didnt think this was worth opening a ticket for, so a quick post on here should do.

About every four weeks i get this email stating Drive Warning: /dev/vzfs (/) is 82% full , or 83% etc etc. Support normally clear it down for me but a few weeks later its back.

So, is this a temp file being filled up? or is it simply the fact that my VPS usage is getting a little high (currently hosting around 30 ish small accounts on a VPS-01, with one or two large e-commerce ones on there).

If its a temp rile being filled up, is there any way i can clear it via FTP? My shell knowledge isnt the best and i dont have time to read up, but if i can go into /dev/vzfs and clear it that would be ideal.

If not, is upgrade vps my best option?

Hi,

You're using almost 80% [12GB of 15GB] of your total allocated disk quota.

Regarding your query on /dev/vzfs, its not a partition, file or a folder but a file system special block, which makes up your VPS. You can read more in it here.

We just clear up some huge log files from your VPS as that frees up some space, but this is temporary, as the log files keep on generating/growing continuously. You can read more on clearing up the system here.

Once the threshold of 80% disk space usage is reached [Notify the admin, (or the reseller), when an account has reached the "warn" Disk Usage state.] cPanel sends an email automatically to the owner, which is configured through the tweak settings in WHM.

An upgrade is highly recommended if you're going to host more sites which would fill up that remaining 3GB space.

Let us know if you require any further information

Default Changing alerts

Hi, is there an option to change the alert levels?

I get a regular email because I am just hovering around the lower limit. I'd like to get an alert only after 90%+ usage.

Thanks, Paul

Hello

You can change alert level through WHM Main >> Server Configuration >> Tweak Settings >> Threshold percentage where a user's disk usage is considered to be in the "critical" state. (0 will disable this notification)
Please let us know if you need further assistance
