Having a little problem with a simple contact form, It worked ok on my last host using PHP 4, moved it across to my VPS and it doesnt work, i have a feeling its some setting regarding being able to send email via PHP but cant be sure.

Ive done some searching and uploaded a tectite sample form, but when i do the force email test it says its sent, but the email doesnt arrive. When i try the sample form again the email never arrives.

Any one got any ideas??

Hi Andy,

I have tested this by sending an email using our phpemail test script. It is working fine. I have received the email on our helpdesk without any problem.

Also i have forwarded the email we received to you to your registered email address.

Hmm, thats strange.

Thanks for testing that for me.

Could it be a dns issue on the domain in question then?

Ive looked at it and as far as i can see the DNS records are the same as the other accounts on the VPS.

the domain in question is east-west.co.uk

and the form im trying to get working is East West Martial Arts

Its a very simple form script and not one a wrote myself, but has always worked fine until moving to the new VPS.

any ideas?

I can assure you that it is not the DNS problem.
Have your tried changing the From: email address in your form and check if that has arrived..?

Hmm thats strange,

Ive just changed the result email address to one thats on the server instead of my personal address which is with my ISP.

It worked!

Why would that be the case then?

Does it have a problem sending emails to external addresses?

This might be to do with email authentication before sending... I had something similar a while ago. I suggest you check the email logs and see what's going on with it.

where exactly do i check email logs?

I have plesk as a CP, is it in there or in virtuosso?
