FSCK on EL31 VPS node
Hello,
One of our Semi-Dedicated nodes (EL31) in the 94.48.75.* subnet is under FSCK at the moment. While rebooting the server our datacenter engineer noticed that one of the HDD had dropped from the RAID config. The faulty HDD is already offline and the primary HDD won't be affected by the replacement.
FSCK process is running on 75% at the moment. As soon as it is completed, our datacenter engineers will replace the hard drive and rebuild RAID.
Further updates will be posted as and when progress is achieved.
We regret the inconvenience caused due to this. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

presumably my semi dedicated is affected 92.48.75.102. , not sure if that's on the same node range as 94.48.75.XXX
BTW , Hyperspin monitoring indicated it's been down since 09:36 GMT today, so it's just coming up for 4 hours down and counting...........

Any chance of an update ?
All of my sites have been down for approx 6 hours now.
I assume others are affected as well, just that nobody seems to be saying so.

Hi,
RAID controller crashed during the FSCK process. Datacenter engineers restarted the FSCK process on this server.

Hello
Hello,
FSCK has been completed but the read-only FileSystem error still exists. We are having 12th Feb backup available so we have started restoring VPSes on the new server.
As soon as backup restoration process completes, we will try to sync the data again from old server.
Appreciate your patience and understanding.

Hi Scott
I currently have an open issue under ticket no. [ #EWY-58622-668]: FW: Linux Semi-dedicated server. One of the domains that is causing problems is assigned to my surprise to IP address 92.48.75.136, for which currently emails and web stats are not functioning. I presume from the IP address that is part of the above quoted problem. Because we are not fixed and this has been ongoing since 9:30 this morning and someone else in VPS support is working on this. I'm flagging this up with you because are principle server IP address is 92.48.70.26 and it may not have occured we have a domain on this affected VPS node that is still giving issues.
Regards
Jon

Dear Jon,
We have looked into the issue and found that the your Virtual Server “92.48.75.136” is not hosted in the Main Hardware Node in EL31.
Regarding the Ticket :: The ticket is escalated to one of our Sr. System administrator and we will keep you updated in the ticket with our findings as progress is made.

Hi Phillip
Thank you for your reply, however how much longer before the issues on my Semi Dedicated Linux Server account are fixed. This has been ongoing since 9:14 am this morning, despite a 2 hour 11 minute online chat call, 4 telephone support calls and 6 emails to support we are still not sorted. In fact the situation has worsened. Domains www.inter-bike.co.uk, www.inter-bikeshop.co.uk and [url}http://www.inter-bikeads.co.uk[/url]are now all down. We have had no email on these domains, it is all errroring and people are reporting emails to these domains are bouncing. Web stats are not functioning. Now we cannot access server WHM or CPanel's either
I'm really surprised that what until now has been excellent service and support from eUKHost since I started hosting with you in 2008, has today been well below the norm. I have been in an information vacum for nearly 12 hours now. I am still at my office desk at 9.00 pm at night, because I cannot leave until this is all fixed.
As you were so kind as to reply my forum posting so quickly can you please let me know how long before the problems with my account are likley to be resolved, otherwise I will end up spending the whole night at my office desk!
It is the lack of feedback or information that is making a difficult situation worse.
Thanks.
Regards
Jon

Hi
Yes Iam pleased to say with the exception of one remaining small fault on one domain all is now fixed. I must pay credit to your Senior System Administrator John Rodricks who has worked tirelessly through the night to fix all the problems and has done much to restore my faith in the normally excellent support from eUKhost.
It is just a pity it took from 9.15 am till the middle of this evening when John got involved and a forum posting to get matters sorted. We have lost a whole days work and as the sites were off from Sunday afternoon, two days traffic. The biggest frustration is the lack of feedback for most of the day as to what was being done and the likely timescale to fix it.
As I have said normally the service I have received from eUKhost VPS Support and the rest of the team has been excllent, its a shame today that all did not run as smoothly as it should.
Its now 2.35 am in the morning which from a 9.15 start is a long time to get everything sorted.
Anway thanks again to John Rodricks who has provided a fantastic service, at last!
Regards
Jon
