Hi Kareem,

You can make backup from SSH using following command :-

/scripts/pkgacct username

This will create full cpmove backup of respective user account which will be stored in /home. This cpmove backup file will look like following :-

cpmove-username.tar.gz

You can copy this cpmove file in public_html of your user account using following command :-

cp /home/cpmove-username.tar.gz /home/username/public_html/

You can then to SSH of your hostgator server and download this file in /home using following command :-

cd /home
wget http ://www.yourdomain.com/cpmove-username.tar.gz

You can now restore this package on your hostgator server using following command :-

/scripts/restorepkg username

This command will automatically restore your cpmove-username.tar.gz backup. Make sure you download the backup in /home only.

There's not really an automatic way to do this - you'd need to create the backups as outlined earlier and then ftp the files across.

Hi Karim,

We have few options through which we clone our cpanel servers. We've deployed rsync scripts which copy all data of our cpanel servers on remote backup servers and we also have restoration scripts which take care of restoring necessary cpanel files and data incase we need to restore a whole cpanel server.

Please refer following article as this should help you to setup some SSH scripts to make full backup of your server :-

Recovering the cpanel Server from Crashed HDD With Rsync

If you need some different solution or if you want us to provide you with backup / restore scripts then let us know.
