I have 9 of the bloody things, the rest of them work, it's just this one I've always had trouble with: whatever I do.
Thanks Ben, I'll have a look around: except I've just paid the next months invoice (o joy).

message me on Sunday. I'll have a new VPS Hosting setup for you on a node which has only 8 VPS Hosting's and it has never used more than 10% CPU and 50% of memory so far.

No, they offer managed as well, support is normally quite good. If I was to mention the company I'm sure it would ring quite a few bells with some people. The VPS Hosting is current £5.29 at the moment (well £11.48 with cPanel).
I just asked the MSN support if it was th main guy at the other end, and got no response: charming!
And still no reply on my ticket. I'm going mental here, it is very frustrating, alright for them: they're probably layed back on the sofa having a nice cold beer.
Nothing ever seems to work for me, ever.

flesso said that this was a VPS Hosting that was not hosted on eUKhost.
Or are you offering him an alternative to his current host? - I think he said the main factor was that the price of his current host is cheap - which may be why he is having problems with the other hosts support.

Sorry didn't see your post there, must have replied at the same time!
A managed server might give you more success, although it would cost you more. Mark seems to have offered a solution to the problem but I am unsure whether he understood that the VPS Hosting you are currently complaining about is not hosted on eUKhost (although he may have done).
RE the MSN support, that doesn't sound promising! Do they offer 24x7 support?

Ticket support is meant to be 24x7. Their managed server solutions do appear to be very tempting, because they come with free extra such as a free cPanel reseller account on another server, and 2 IPs.
Thanks for the offer Mark, but as DPS said, I think you have mis-understood what I have said, anyway I'll double check with you on MSN.
Still no reply, I may seek a refund or something judging on the servers performance, and the fact that I have tried my own cPanel install on CentOS 5, but the OS template was corrupt - but I'm out of the 7 day money back guaruntee.
And amazingly: I just had a reply on MSN!

Just waiting for the server to crash... the joy of it...

I think I need to go and get some fresh air now.
for your information : 3 of my friends from US are running top 3 VPS Hosting hosting companies and they setup upto 100 VPS Hosting on each node. one of their nodes will crash every week with 100% data loss and they don't care about it.

Hmm.. Spry.com shouldn't be one of them by any chance..?
With them I've got trouble with CPU-usage hitting the roof most of the time, with almost daily cppop-crashes as a result...

Steppen, I would make your escape from Spry as soon as possible if thats how things are going for you. I have been with Lycos VDS a couple of times in the past, their service was dispiccable. All support was, was a forum with a few guys rarely helping customers out, it was all down to users with professional knowledge to help out noobies. Their uptime was also terrible, I wouldn't be surprised if they had quite a few users to 1 node.

flesso, are you implying any relationship between Spry and Lycos?

So they are similar, then? Or do you have experience with Spry too? (Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to understand what you're basing your advice on).

Long long story. Anyway, it's getting late here, and I feel we're heading off topic...
It's been 5 hours and still no response on the ticket!

I finally got a reply at 1:00 am, saying that my VPS Hosting didn't have sufficient RAM! Surely 256mb with a 512mb bust is enough? I'm slowly watching the VPS Hosting collapse, how fun! I can't even login via SSH. What annoys me even more is that the company are marketing the VPS Hosting as saying that cPanel and DirectAdmin will work on all products!
Here are my latest memory readings (taken from the control panel):
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 256 243 12 0 0 0
-/+ buffers/cache: 243 12
Swap: 0 0 0
Also, most of the ticket replies say: 'someone will look into this for you'. It's only about 3/7 replies which have actually been anything decent!

Hope that you managed to sort everything in the end flesso. Doesn't even sound like the other hosting company is doing much even now, despite the fact that everything is crumbling round your feet!
Low memory is one thing, a server crash is completely another!
