Default IP Address Walk through

Me again

I have just been trying to set up anew account on my VPS from the WHM/Accounts/ Create new account.

I did every thing as I did the last time a made a new account (this will be to second one on my VPS) but when I clicked submit it came up with

Quote:
Create a new Account
Account Creation Status: failed (Your system has run out of available ip addresses, or you do not have permission to use any more ip addresses. (Unable to find an ip address.) )

Your system has run out of available ip addresses, or you do not have permission to use any more ip addresses. (Unable to find an ip address.)
What should I select from the radio buttons in the new account set up page?

Quote:
DNS Settings

Select Options Use the nameservers specified at the Domain's Registrar (ignore locally specified nameservers)

Overwrite any existing DNS zones for the account

Nameservers
ns4262.ukvpshosting.com
ns4263.ukvpshosting.com

I selected the Use the nameservers specified at the Domain's Registrar (ignore locally specified nameservers)

but that gave me that mesage. Do I leave the radio buttons blank or select the
Overwrite any existing DNS zones for the account?

Or do I some how have to make up an IP address?

any pointer greatly recived

Hi,

It seems you have enabled "Dedicated IP" option in the hosting package you have created. You will need to edit your hosting plan and remove "Dedicated IP" option from it. All your websites will work on the single shared IP address which is the main IP address of your VPS.

You should keep the local nameservers selected for your domains when you add them from your WHM. Make sure it shows the VPS nameservers ( ns4262.ukvpshosting.com & ns4263.ukvpshosting.com ) while adding the new account.

Sorry guys will have to reopen this thread.

As you can see I managed to make a new account by not selecting the the dedicated ip button.
But I have just created a small package and made a new account using the small package.
It made it ok but it's the same IP as the account I made earlier in this post.
So I can access the cpanel for that account to set the site up. it just takes me to the first account I made using the not dedicated ip setting?

Can any body help
Is there somewhere in account setting I need to generate a new ip for the every account I add?

Really confused about this IP stuff.

Thumbs up

Hello,

In all cPanel servers, by default the shared IP of the server gets assigned to the domain, whenever you create any cPanel account from WHM. In this way you can add multiple domains on shared IP of the server. That will not make any problem while accessing cPanel of each domain. The URL for accessing cPanel will be same i.e. http://IP:2082 , you will only have to use the correct username and password of the respective domain.

In second case, you can assign dedicated IP address manually for each site from the WHM: Main >> Account Functions >> Change Site's IP Address

Ok Thanks for that I get the bit about using the relevant User Pass for the Cpanel.

But when I look at Main >> Account Functions >> Change Site's IP Address
The drop down to select an IP is empty.
Is there a way to assign IP's to that drop down, I'm only planning on running 4 sites from my VPS so 4 individual ip's would do, but I dont know who to generate them?
How do you know your not picking some body else's IP. there a potential to mess there sites up.

Hi Jonathan,

You have a L-VPS-01 plan with us, which comes with 2 IPs only. One IP has already been used as shared IP address and other IP has been assigned to one of your accounts.

You will need to order more IPs from :- https://www.eukhost.com/whmcs/cart.php?gid=27

Please choose "Dedicated IP address" package and order twice. We will then assign more IPs to your VPS and you will see 2 new IPs in the drop down box when you change site's IP address from your WHM. Nothing will go wrong while changing site's IP address as IPs assigned to you will be 100% your IP addresses.

Hi
Thanks for the info. I didn't realize they cost. I'll have to wait till my sites start getting some donations in before I commit to purchasing some new IP's
