Good choices Mark. I must say, on my laptop I'm definitely a fan of Ubuntu. And I think it's interface would make it easy for people to move from Windows to it.

But for servers, CentOS has my vote.

Anything which is RH based (CentOS and fedora core) - no other linux distro's will beat these.

I prefer debian to CentOS because of the number of packages available. However for non server stuff I prefer Gentoo as I like to have the latest stuff.
