mail() Problems

hi,
i have a problem with the mail that I'm sending from contact@ghidul-tau.ro ( domain hosted on EUK). It goes in the junk folder in hotmail and yahoo.

I'm using a mail() function..

Can you help me please?

Hello,

There are many reasons like missing reverse DNS, domain_keys or spf record due to which mails land in junk box. Reverse DNS is already set for your vps but domain_keys & spf record was missing for domain 'ghidul-tau.ro' which we have added now.

Just a give a try now & see if the mails still goes to the junk box.

i've checked now in yahoo...and still in junk.....

What is the content of the e-mail (if you don't mind me asking?). The content may be making the yahoo and hotmail services flag it as junk.

Ah right, doesn't seem like there would be anything that would be flagged up content wise then - unless there is a word that is triggering the filter in error.

I know a lot of foreign emails (written in a foreign language) get classed as spam by Thunderbird - maybe with Yahoo and Hotmail being American this is happening by mistake? It is a complete stab in the dark bare in mind though

Yahoo is a pain when it comes to these sort of things. I have a constant battle with it to allow some emails through to inboxes. Luckily the people on the mailing list I have issues with meet on a weekly basis so the 50+ of them who use yahoo were told to go to the junk folder and then select not junk. Yahoo seemed to take the hint and I haven't had any issues from that domain since then.

Also, just another thing, but I've heard sending e-mail to Yahoo and Hotmail without an SPF record leads to a temporary blacklisting - so maybe your domain is temporarily blacklisted for not having an SPF record in the past?

Also theres no chance your on spamhaus or spamcops blacklists are there? Have you had problems sending e-mails to non-Yahoo or non-Hotmail addresses?
