Moving accounts within VPS

Hi All,

Im a new member to these forums and really im hoping some one can help me out so that it takes the pressure off support. I would like to know the answer to this situation :

If i create a web site hosting on a certain web address say www. ukmarinecore .co.uk for instance, a phpbb3 website hosting with a MySQL Server database. If i want to move this account to a new address namely www. tearingmyhairout .co.uk which is my customers IT support site, how do i go about this as i believe by just changing the domain name, this will effect the database and php files as they have been created under the address www. ukmarinecore .co.uk

How do i do a full move to a new account and domain within whm ? I have tried a full back up and restore but apparantly this still means the incorrect domain is through out the php and MySQL Server files

Please help im tearing my hair out !!!!!!!

I would say for a temporary thing do a redirect from the new domain to the old one. At least then people are getting to the right content.

Regarding a migration... I would guess (don't hold me to it as it might not work!) that you would install a new version of phpbb3 on your new domain. This will set up all the files correctly. You'll then need to import the database from the old domain however you might need to copy some of the tables.

I'm not entirely sure how the backend of phpbb3 works hence the slight amount of guessing there. And I would point you to this: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewt...?f=1&p=4840725. You won't need to do the database upgrades but this migration of the phpbb2 web site hosting from one server to the other should apply for the migration you want to do.
