Default nameserver question on [url=http://www.eukhost.com/vps-hosting.php]VPS Hosting[/url]

Hi
I am new to VPS Hosting accounts, and need some guidance. I'm the developer for www.displaycentretest.co.uk which my client has bought, together with a VPS Hosting package. However, there's no DNS entry for www.displaycentretest.co.uk. I don't get anything win the browser. I get a default Plesk page when I put the assigned IP address in. However I can't log into the Plesk control panel as my browser goes to 'my web search' even when fixing the Plesk port numbers on the firewall. In effect I can't don anything! Is there something I have to do first in the nameserver area?

In change DNS in the account details, it is ns31.eukdns.com and ns32.eukdns.com Do I need to change anything?

The nameservers are normally correct if you registered the VPS Hosting account and domain together as there are assigned during setup.

Hi DPS Computing
Problem is there's no way of knowing if it's correct or not as I haven't done this before. I can't log into Plesk to start configuring the website hosting. I can't ftp as I need to set up an ftp user etc, so I can't build the website hosting. What do I do first? There's no default page appearing when I enter
www.displaycentretest.co.uk.

Do I need to do something before being able to log into the Plesk panel?

I have just tried the 'toll free' phone number but this doesn't work. Thought I should just tell you guys in case you are unaware of it.

I will raise a support ticket.

Hello,

You can login to Plesk control Panel using URL https://VPS Hosting>:8443 with the login details you have received in your welcome mail. After login you have to configure following:

1) Setup Default Nameserver:
Go to Server (from left side Panel) >> DNS >> Add dns record >> select NS >> Enter the nameservers (ns31.eukdns.com and ns32.eukdns.com) in nameserver field one by one.

2) Creating Client:
Client and add a new client, it will ask for some information fill it and create a new Client.

3) Adding Domain
After you setups above go to Domain (from left side Panel) >> Add a new Domain >> Enter the domain name and fill the necessary information. This will add a new domain in your Plesk.

If you face any problem, please send a mail to <a href="http://www.eukhost.com/vps-...a>@eukhost.com and we will be there to help you.

As you have a VPS Hosting so you can also setup your private nameservers on your domain name. We have tutorials located at http://www.eukhost.com/support/ for nameserserver registration on website hostings of many different registrars.

If you have purchased your domain name from our company then request our billing department to setup your private nameservers. You can contact our VPS Hosting team directly to get assistance with other configuration requirements. One of our Toll Free number has got problems so you can call on other number displayed on our website hosting.

You should use phone support only when you have any critical problems as our phone support team has limited knowledge of server / VPS Hosting configuration.

Are critical problems things like not having ftp access?

What use is calling a number that doesn't work?
Trying to use a chat help system that never responds?

The only options for VPS Hosting support appear to be through the forum and the VPS Hosting email support - nothing else works (and according to you, they wouldn't be able to help anyway so it would be a waste of time using either the chat or phone to try and resolve anything).

As I've previously said that Geeks are not made for Customer Service. They love to work on Servers and drown in technical problems. They prefer to answer only once they have their technical problem sorted so its next to impossible for us to make our System Admins answer Chats or Calls.

Those who have expertise in Customer Service need to compromise on server side as pressure of responding to customer needs to be given priority than solving the technical problem.

Also as well, domain settings can be seen by logging into your account at https://www.eukhost.com/mb/ using your log in credentials provided at sign up (if your domain was registered through eUKhost).

I have been in touch with Billing and it seems the last link in the chain is now in place - the Plesk default home page appears when I enter the new domain name in. This issue is now resolved.
