Default nameservers

still dont think i've got the namerservers set up right on my main VPS Hosting domain.

When altering the nameservers for a UK domain to point to my VPS Hosting, all is fine, but with a .com i get the following error from 123reg

"Error text: Nameserver ns1.mydomain.co.uk doesn't exists in the registry
"

i know this is 123reg just being rubbish, but is there anything i can do my end on the VPS Hosting? 123 support is pants at best and an email i sent to support last week is still unanswered.

PS i'm toying with the idea of moving all my domains to euk, would this be beneficial? is there a sperate control panel to manage them if i do so?

ta...

Hi,

You can make any sort of domain related changes from your client area. You won't be able to transfer .co.uk domains away without our approval, but everything else like nameservers, contact information, registrar-lock and whois privacy settings can be managed from our billing system.

can you check if you have added A records for ns1. and ns2. of your .co.uk domain from its "Change DNS" section ?

you mean for my Dedicated Server domain? The A records in that are as follows..

@ 194.154.164.82
www 194.154.164.82

to which i've just added

ns1 87.117.252.154
ns2 87.117.252.155

Is this now right?

I need a dummies guide to DNS

hmm still cant do anything, even though i've now transferred my Dedicated Server domain to ENON.

123reg still says the following when i try to change the namerservers on any .com domain (.co.uk are fine)..

Setting nameservers to ns1.softd.co.uk and ns2.softd.co.uk
Please wait...
Nameservers for algarve-dreams.com were not changed to
ns1.softd.co.uk and ns2.softd.co.uk
Error text: Nameserver ns2.softd.co.uk doesn't exists in the registry

Any ideas of what i can do? 123 support is obviously appaling, so no help from them, not even a reply.

Hi Adrian Branch,

We have checked the nameservers for your web site hosting "softd.co.uk", they are properly registered at the registrar end as "ns1.softd.co.uk" and "ns2.softd.co.uk" and pointing to your VPS Hosting primary and secondary IP "87.117.252.154" and "87.117.252.155" respectively. Also your web site hosting "softd.co.uk" is loading fine at our end. You can also check the DNS report at URL: - intoDNS: softd.co.uk - check DNS server and mail server health. It seems that the nameservers are still under propagation.
