Hello John,

You can find some good articles in tutorials section of this Forum or from our blog http://blog.eukhost.com

some other good website hostings for Linux guidelines are eth0.us and configserver.com

You can refer these website hostings to improve configure your VPS Hosting or you can simply contact our support team and get all necessary settings done by them

We have some highly knowledgeable members on this forum who have expertise in Linux and we all will help you in every possible way

Thanks. I have gone through the provided links. They are very useful. But, it will be more useful to me if you can explain that how one can setup one physical server into isolated VPS Hosting servers? I am having a physical server. How can I configure it to divide it into isolated VPS Hosting servers?

Thanks again!

Hello,

You can use OpenVZ or Virtuozzo for Virtualization. Some documentation is available on main website hosting of OpenVZ and kb.swsoft.com. It wont be possible to split physical server into multiple Virtual servers without a software like OpenVZ or Virtuozzo.

I believe VPS Hosting's can also be achieved by using user mode linux or vmware

Can you provide me the steps to install and manage VZPP and OpenVZ tools on Linux?

Thanks!

For a Virtuozzo license you will need to fork out ALOT of money - the price for the starter pack is currently $999. OpenVZ on the other hand is open source, meaning that it is free; you can either have the support team install it for you by email 'support [at] eukhost.com' or from http://support.eukhost.com, or install it yourself by having a read through the guide.

Hello John,

Ensure that you have a high configuration server to be used as the Hardware Node if you intend to create VPS Hosting' on it. A weak node will lead to disastrous results.

Also, what is the use of OpenVZ and virtuozzo?

Thanks!

Hello John,

OpenVZ and Virtuozzo are softwares which are used for Virtualization. I am not sure if anyone can guide you through the setup process as running and managing VPS Hosting's is quite complicated and you need to be well versed with Linux knowledge to make this possible.

You should refer articles on main website hosting of OpenVZ or kb.swsoft.com to get started. They have complete documentation to let you get started.

Virtozzo is best!!!

But, is there any limitation for number of VPS Hosting I can configure per server?

I want to configure 10 VPS Hosting servers. What should be the configuration of main server I have?

Thanks.

Following is the minimum requirement (As per Swsoft) to install virtuozzo.

Microprocessor Architectures Supported :-
  • Virtuozzo VPS Hosting for Linux: x86, ia64, AMD64, EM64T, Itanium
  • Virtuozzo VPS Hosting for Windows: 32 and 64 bit
Server Minimum Requirements : -

PIII server with at least 1 GB of memory and 4 GB available hard drive. The more CPU and memory a server has, the more virtual private servers and applications may be supported.

Number of VPS Hosting creation is dependent on Virtuozzo license and server configuration.

We suggest to have following configuration on main hardware node to run 10 VPS Hosting smoothly

Processor : - Latest one for example - Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3220

RAM : - 8 GB

Disk Space : - It depends how much you are going to assign on each VPS Hosting. You should have additional disk space for backups. Hard disk with RAID is recommended.
