Unhappy Poor VPS Performance for 3 Weeks

Hello,

I have been on live support/email about my VPS almost every day over the last 2-3 weeks. Usually, the service is excellent and the VPS chugs along very nicely. However, in the last couple of weeks I have had the following:

temp files causing server freeze
mysql load causing server freeze
collapse of cron
collapse of exim
backups driving load to 25 during working hours
upstream / routing issues

What is going on?! Am I just discovering what happens when all the accounts on the VPS have been sold.. or is this something else? I can't carry on like this.

Look forward to some feedback..

Thanks.

R.

vps on 91.186.29.61

PS. Even the live help guys are starting to vanish after saying.. "Please hold, while I look into this". Absolutely astonishing.

Thumbs up Hey

Hello,

I apologise for the delay in response.

The hardware node on which your VPS is currently hosted is having uptime of 155 days and today one of the VPS backup restoration was going on the hardware node, this process took some resources, but it was sorted on time.

We have done following tweaks on your VPS :

- Changed cpanel version to “stable”.
- Increased memory for cpanel services, so that they will restart smoothly.
- Eximstats database process is running from last 945 mins you can check it using “mysqladmin processlist” command.
- Added new cron which will delete all session files after every 12 hours. Already tested existing cron logs and they are running fine.
- Updated exim mail server.

You should not face these problems again. But if you wish, then we can migrate your VPS to one of our new hardware node which has very high configuration CPU's and RAM. You will get different IP addresses but the performance will be much better.

It would be great if you can email to vps@eukhost.com so that we can discuss more deeply on these issues.

I had something similar a while back and it needed a few tweaks and it calmed down. Sometimes the VPS needs rebooting when the load goes like that. It sorted mine but hopefully with the changes that have now been made everything will run smoothly.

Hi. Thanks for your response, my apologies for not getting back sooner.

The VPS has improved with an overall reduction in processor and ram usage, so thanks for that.

I will hold off from migrating the vps for now because of the inherent hassle, but I appreciate the offer. I will keep an eye on everything and drop you a line if anything changes.

Thanks for your help.
