Default Problem sending to hotmail accounts

On my Windows VPS Hosting i am having problems sending emails to hotmail accounts. I am getting the following error. I think this may have happened on my last VPS Hosting but when i was moved accross to the new VPS Hosting the problem has shown itself again. Has anyone else had the same problem?

MailEnable: Message delivery has been delayed.

Message is waiting at home for delivery to mx3.hotmail.com.

The message will be retried for another 20 hours.

Reason: Mail Server for hotmail.co.uk could not be contacted at this time. MailEnable will keep trying to deliver this message and will notify you of any progress.

87.117.252.226

Someone from the VPS Hosting team have responded to my email and they are creating a RDNS record for one of my domain names. Will this allow all my domains to be able to send email to hotmail accounts?

Yes, this will most definitely allow your VPS Hosting mails to be received by hotmail as well as yahoo, AOL, GMail and a lot of the other free mail service providers.

I have just sent an email to a customer and received the following:-

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

C.Wallace@sanderson.com
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
host mail.sanderson.com [80.193.99.102]: 550 This system has been configured to reject your mail. An IP address (82.38.255.242) found in the message's 'Received:' headers is listed by the lookup web site hosting 'sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org.'.

How has someone been able to spam from this IP when nobody else uses it but me? Is it from previous use? Could you please look at this problem ASAP as its affecting my business?

Hello,

I have created a new ticket on your behalf. The VPS Hosting team will get back to you once they have investigated this.

Just looked up your IP in the spamhaux database . . .

http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=87.117.252.226

http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=80.193.99.102

However the IP 82.38.255.242 is blacklisted. You may want to check http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=82.38.255.242

The IP 82.38.255.242 does not belong to eukhost.com

Maybe you would want to try resending the email after a few hours. The VPS Hosting team will still verify things and reply to the ticket.

I can now send and receive emails but i am still unable to email hotmail and yahoo accounts. If you look back through my notes you will see that one of the engineers added an RDNS entry and said;

"Yes, this will most definitely allow your VPS Hosting mails to be received by hotmail as well as yahoo, AOL, GMail and a lot of the other free mail service providers."

This is still a problem and has been going on for nearly a month now and is takening up much of my time. Could you please leave the call open until I confirm that the problem is fixed.

Even more worrying is the fact that I am not receiving a NDR saying the email has not been delivered!

You could try adding an 'spf' record for your domain - might help??

You need to edit the DNS zone for the domain and add a txt record, something like v=spf1 a mx ip4.x.x.x ~all - if you don't know what to add just ask live chat to add one for you and they should know the correct format

Go onto live support would be my best guess. Try restarting exim and pop but aside from that, it'll be help from support that's needed. Yahoo and hotmail are annoying systems at the best of times...

If you want quicker answers about what's being done, go back onto live support. It's usually the quickest way to get a response or otherwise open a support ticket.

Hi jc8654, I do log the call, send an email and use the LiveChat (nearly every day unfortunately). It's nearly a month now since I logged the call and I still can not send to hotmail and yahoo accounts. On top of this the move to the new VPS Hosting has caused other problems. The restore of the VPS Hosting seems to have wiped the file permissions so my web stores are no longer functioning properly as the database is not writable. I added this problem to the call a few days ago but to make matter worse I have not been able to logon to Plesk yet.

I just don’t know what to do for the best. The amount of time I have spent chasing calls since I purchased this VPS Hosting has taken as much time at a part time job. I am wondering if I should just go back to shared hosting as I did not have this many problems back then.
