Default reliability is terrible - do not use eukhost

Hello.

The reliability of your servers is appauling. The hosting side of our business has been severely affected since moving to Eukhost. This has had a big impact on the rest of our business as hosting is a small part of what we do.

When I first joined, I suffered problems after problems. Since then it's just continued. 2 days ago the servers were down because it was overloaded. I was continually told it was sorted.

Now its overloaded again with the load at 9.0! I'm supposed to be on semi dedicated with low useage.

This is getting past the joke, the server is now down, we have no email and I already have clients on the phone. Do you realise it has taken me ears to build my business up and you are destroying my reputation.

It is NOT acceptable.
Are all your testimonials fake?

Hi,

The reliability of VPS and Semi-Dedicated is not something anyone here is happy with at the moment. Although you can tell by the node IDs that we have quite a few nodes, most of which never have a problem, it does seem to be a case of it being more likely a VPS/Semi-Dedicated having a problem rather than a Shared/Dedicated.

That is something we are looking into. We have a meeting with VMWare next week with a view to using their "cloud" software.

Default moving

In the meantime I have looked into other suppliers, two of which are calling me back within half an hour. We can't lose any more business and we can ruin our reputation completely.

If Eukhost want to keep me as a customer, (one which was going to take on a dedicated server in the future etc) then you will have to move me to a dedicated server with a big discount.

I've lost well over £1000+ in lost hours dealing with problems since moving to Eukhost, I can't take it anymore.

Our clients are also clients of our main business and losing them because of this appauling service means we stand to face ruin. All I get from your team is 'it was node down, node up again now'...

Pathetic.

I will speak with the VPS Team about your problems. A Dedicated Server is possible, but it won't be massively discounted.

Hello,

According to the VPS Team, this week is the only occasion in which this Node has had problems for quite some time. The previous problems you have experienced have been related to your individual VPS being corrupted due to system changes made by you, hacks installed onto your VPS and also httpd becoming corrupted due to changes made.

You are very quick to praise and then slate without thought, as previous threads suggest. I would also ask you to stop reopening threads from 9 months in order to complain about your VPS being down.

Nobody likes downtime, especially us, but you need to take a step back and think before you type on here.

Hello

I probably didn't look at the date on a thread I opened.

yes it has been 6 weeks since the last downtime, but that is not 99% uptime!

How dare you blame me for corrupting my vps. This was discussed at the time and the vps corrupted because it updated software on itself which resulted in corrupted files. They tried to blame me at the time but I proved it was not my fault.

I also do not install hacks on my vps!!
The vps was actually hacked twice because your team didn't turn firewall back on and the hacker got in again or something.

I should NOT have to suffer in this way, my business has suffered and clients call me every time. I can't go on like this, with Eukhost blaming me for things.

Yes I'll give praise where it is due and I thought we had recovered and speeding ahead. Unfortunately at ties like this week and today I'm the one who's business depends on these servers. I'm the one who takes the flack and I'm sure you can understand that I come on here to vent my anger because chat was busy, emails were not answered and when we did get an answer it was the usual palm off email and no details.

I have had no holiday this year, I cancelled because I couldn't rely on the servers being up while I was away.

I understand, but your experience is unique. Other people on the same Node haven't experienced those problems. A firewall on linux also isn't the be and end all of a VPS being hacked or not. It's more related to the sites you host and the scripts they use. Weak passwords are also a common cause. It is not like windows which can be exploited just by being turned on, there has to be an active problem.

The problems you are having at the moment are totally unrelated to the other problems you experienced. I'm sure we could argue back and fourth on who is to blame for your previous problems, but there is little we can do about it if nobody else has the same problem. The current problem is being experienced by each user on the Node though, and for that everyone has our apologies.

Problems can come up occasionally. Even by VPS standards, which I personally don't like, the uptime of that Node has been excellent prior to this incident.

If uptime is critical to you, as it seems to be with the numbers you are suggesting, I'd advise you to either wait patiently until our Cloud VPS Hosting is ready, or request a quote for 2x Dedicated in a mirroring setup.

Hi Simon,

We are coming up with Cloud computing solution within next 8 - 10 days. We will guarantee 100% uptime to all our customers and we will have all VPSs running from a Dozens of Clustered servers using 2 separate SAN storages for data.

This solution would be as reliable as our Dedicated Servers. Customers will get 100% uptime on this setup and you will never need to worry about what other customers do within then same Cluster. As we are switching to hardware virtualization, so we will be spending much more on VPSs / Semi-dedicated servers, just to give give 100% uptime and super speed performance to our customers.

Indeed!

Its a big investment we have made to buy these high spec servers from Dell and 2 high specification SAN storage devices from lefthand network.

I am expecting hardware to arrive on coming Tuesday or Wednesday.
