Default Semi Dedicated - I thought it was better???

Hi all,

I have logged so many support calls and been on live chat to many times to remember, about my clients SEMI-Dedicated server that I manage for them, I thought I would extend this to the Forum to see if anyone else is having as many problems as I have.

I have had a standard windows VPS Hosting with eUKHost for a while now and when my client needed a server of his own I recommended eUKHost as they have been good to me (yeah, it took a couple of weeks and a move to a new node, but everything works fine now ).

For the last couple of weeks i have gone through 4 IP address changes, 1 node rebuild, logs that state 30gb of data transfer per day when the web site hosting is less then a week old and only 5 pages of text??? and to top it off, itermitant down time throughout the day but by the time I contact support it is back up again and all they say is "it works for us!!!".

My client wants to get a refund, but what do you guys think. Do you think eUK will come through in the end of shall I move them???

BTW: for any eUKHost'rs that read this, some of the support calls are [ #DSW-27816-993], [ #BDT-74428-918], [ #AEJ-44593-611], [ #FVY-86899-952], [ #AFV-12775-807], [ #BHJ-16800-895] ..... there are plenty more but I am sure you get the point

I have asked our VPS Hosting Team members to look into this. I've looked at some of your tickets and it seems that you had added wrong IPs from plesk control panel which created problems for your VPS Hosting.

There is huge difference in performance of the Q6600 servers and the new Dual Quad Core Xeon servers so if your customer has no problem with another IP change then let me know and I can schedule migration of your semi-dedicated server on a new node.

I'm not sure why you should face such problems with a semi-dedicated server, but I will prefer to wait till I hear from the VPS Hosting Team members.

I've discussed your problems with our VPS Hosting Team and they have clearly specified that all your problems were due to wrong IPs added in plesk. There was nothing else that was wrong with the node and the load as well as Memory usage seems to be absolutely normal for last few weeks.

We have no problem if you ask us to add IPs in plesk, but if you do something wrong from your end then it takes much more time for us to find out what was done to create such problem.

Thanks for looking into this for me. I try to defend eUKHost but when his sites are not working there is not much I can say.

I really would like the Outgoing data transfer of 20gb-30gb per day to be looked into too. The VPS Hosting team never really gave me an answer. I have noticed timeout errors when I browse to the sites and that should not be happening.

The IP's added where given to me by the eUKHost, all I did was refresh the IP list in Plesk and I used what appeared for each domain. I did not add any "wrong IPs".

Not true. In support call [ #BHJ-16800-895] they said "There is a problem with the registry of the node that the virtual servers use which is causing errors". That was at 11:10am, then at 16:45 I was told it was fixed.

I am not trying to nit pick but I dont want you thinking that these problems are all my own doing.

I have just received an email from VPS Hosting support and they said they are looking into my problems. Thanks for stepping in for me.
