Subverion / CVS

Hi all,

I'd like to install Subversion and CVS on my VPS Hosting - there's a post about subversion in your blog but could you just confirm that's the right way to do it? I'd install it myself, but I'd imagine there's already a way via WHM to do this? Thanks, Michael

*Installation of subversion is actually quite simple. From shell, login in as root and use following command:

# yum install subversion
========

*CVS installation will take long time so its better to open a support ticket from http://support.eukhost.com for the installation. Or you can find the installation process in google.

Cheers, I think I just found the answer. I tried to use yum, but there is some kind of dependency on perl(uri) which i couldn't fix. What I did instead was install up2date (yum install up2date) and installed both cvs and subversion from there:

up2date install cvs
up2date install subversion

Both worked a charm and now I have subversion and cvs. Up2date seems similar to yum, not got the time at the moment to really look into what it can do unfortunately.

You need to check if something has broken as up2date works for RHEL and previous versions of Redhat Linux. You need to verify if something has broken or not.

Oops, sorry about that. I figured red hat/fedora it'll be OK. Just uninstalled with rpm -e, one of my website hostings is down (hotcocoa.co.uk) but I'm sure that's probably something else I've done, as other website hostings are up.
