If you running this on a Virtuozzo VPS Hosting, check your /etc/xinet.d/ for POP commands, in the default CentOS template you can get it has a POP3/POP3S server installed -

1) disable or remove it.
2) restart xinetd service
3) restart courier service.

Pop3 will start accepting emails from your VPS Hosting
