Default VPS Hosting Billing every 2-3 weeks?

I took out a VPS Hosting package on 3rd may and paid the invoice due for 4th May.

On 19th May I got another invoice stating I owed another 1 month host... 3rd May to 19th May is not one month.

I received an automated email telling me my invoice was now overdue. EXCUSE ME!! - how can it be overdue when I had paid for 1month hosting from 3rd May to 3rd June.

On top of that the VPS Hosting has now again failed for a 2nd time since the server move. I received the following message:

Quote:
cpsrvd failed @ Wed May 30 07:04:00 2007. A restart was attempted automagicly.
Now before the move this never happened in the 3 weeks I had hosting at the original location... now it has happened twice since the move on the 26th.

Has something not been setup correct or what is causing this?

I have raised a ticket for both issues but would really want to know if other people are suffering the same - getting billed too frequently and an increased unreliability of their VPS Hosting.

Thanks.

Hello Latona,

We have combined billing system for all packages and we need to setup reminders to go at least 15 days prior to renewal as domains due for renewal may face problems if they are not renewed on time.

You have nothing to worry till the renewal date as we don't suspened accounts for 30 days after generation of invoices.

Ok, that is fine - as I do plan to move to annual payment when I have the main website hosting launched and things working how I want etc, although will pay monthly during development stage. It was more the message stating that the billing was overdue as I had previously enquired and been explained about the notification. Obviously paying monthly at the start of each month ensures I know what I have paid for that month in advance - it makes it easier managment knowing at the start of each month to pay for hosting.

The other issue has also been resolved - hopefully this time correctly as the last time the cpserv issue was addressed I received an email stating it shouldn't happen again (same email as I received this time) - although it only lasted a couple of days before occurring again.

Customers keep on ignoring invoice notifications so we have to make it that way. I don't think it makes any difference for customers like you if invoice comes 15 days in advance but the matter is mainly focussed on those who have their domains due for renewal.

If customers pay after a domain name expires then it takes 12 - 24 hours again for DNS to propagate which becomes quite frustrating for customers as well as our team as customers expect instant activation of their website hosting on payment.

Also, regarding late payment for domain names, won't it leave it open for the domain to be "stolen" off the current owner. I know that website hostings like GoDaddy offer a "back registration" service (which costs more than domain registration services) and they say they will get the domain the second it become available and expires. Are they able to do this in this case?
