Default VPS Hosting :: Suspension notice?

I am confused about receiving a suspension notice (actually 2 notices) the day after the payment was due (and also made).

However, instead of using the credit card as normal I opted to pay using the paypal method... so a couple of queries:

1) How long does it take to show that I have paid on time in paypal?
2) Why is 2 suspension notices being emailed out after payment was made on time?
3) Obvious question - how long after the suspension notice is issued is an account suspended (even though payment was made on time, on the 3rd of the month as normal).

The only reason why I chose to pay by paypal is that when I tried to pay by credit card it then asked a lot of different questions than before and just wouldn't let me checkout - kept taking me to the same screen when I pressed checkout.

I had filled the details out 3 times - but it never even took me to the final checkout screen - just seemed to clear my details and request them again... kinda seemed like it was stuck in a loop and that was why I went with paypal option.

I have emailed billing regarding the double notice (I just don't understand why 2 notices were sent 1 day after it was due - even though it was paid on the right date - the 3rd). Hopefully billing can explain why it is necessary to send 2 notices with the exact same information and why they send such notices when payments are made on time...

Hope you manage to sort it out. Your problem does indeed strange as my payment cleared straight away. I can only assume that the system made a mistake and sent the same email twice?

We will be switching our Credit Card processor before end of this month as 2checkout has made things difficult for customers and many customers are finding it inconvenient to pay by credit card.

I apologize for the inconvenience you had but we never expected our payment gateway to keep on changing its policies every other day.

I login today ... 8 days after payment is due (and payment has been made) and I find that it says my account is suspended?

My payment is due on the 3rd of the month, I made the payment via paypal because 2checkout wouldn't let me checkout.

In previous queries I was told to ignore billing requests that get issued on the 19th of the month (because my billing period starts from the 3rd.. and there would be no problems until at least 2 weeks after my actual billing date - aka suspension wouldn't come into affect until the 17th... should there be any problems).

However, I paid for this month yet get suspended? This was the reply from billing on 5th august.

Hello,

Well we can hereby state that you have made the payment for the invoice 17877 to our end on 3 Aug. 2007 , but the payment made was by e-check and the expected date of the clearance of the echeck payment is on 14 Aug. 2007 , so as soon as the payment gets cleared at our end , we will update in the billing system and no more suspension notice will be send at your end. We will take care of the echeck payment, So no worries at your end.

Please revert back to us if you have any query we would be glad to assist you further.

Regards,
Aaron Phillips

I guess I got the answer to point 3 - it is about 8 days after the payment is due that an account gets suspended. However, even if the payment has been acknowledged by billing support that it has been made at my end and they are just waiting for it to clear, your account will still get suspended. In addition, 8 days is apparently beyond the grace period and as such I can only think that the grace period is 7 days.
