VPS System Services

Hi All,

Still exploring and tweaking my VPS Hosting. Currently not serving any accounts.

Under Syatem Services in the Virtuozzo control panel 2 services httpd and syslog indicate stopped. Should I try restarting these ?

It is known issue. Virtuozzo power panel cannot identify status for services like MySQL and http server status for cPanel servers. You should be looking at whm -> service status.

Please restart the services if "service status" shows stopped.

Tried that - no go !!

Failed to start the "httpd" service.
Cannot start/stop/restart service: service "httpd" status is not "running" after command "start"

Failed to start the "syslog" service.
Cannot start/stop/restart service: service "syslog" status is not "running" after command "start"

I think you have tried to restart those services from virtuozzo panel. Please try to restart from SSH. Also make sure you have not disabled any service in
Service Manager on WHM panel.

Understood Nick will do in future. I'm very new at this !!!!!

I only ever use Virtuozzo for restarting the VPS Hosting and checking to status of cron. Aside from that, everything else is through WHM or SSH. The support team are always there to help and are usually pretty helpful.
