What control panel for Hyper-V?
So Windows VPS on Parallels has Virtuozzo Power Panel, I know what that looks like and the sort of management you can do.
What comes with the Hyper-V VPS? Can I see a demo/trial server?
ie so we can restart the server, view bandwidth, etc
Thanks

Certainly, you can choose the Plesk control panel with it.
Unfortunately, demo/trial server is something we do not offer due to potential security risks. However, there is a 30 day money back guarantee if you're not satisfied.

Hello,
Virtuozzo technology is a Software based Virtualization i.e. it is installed above the OS where as in case of Hardware Virtualization, installation OS is above the Hyper-visor. Due to Hardware Virtualization, there is no control available on a Hyper-V VPS, like Virtuozzo Power Panel in case of a Virtuozzo VPS which can be used for VM Management.
For hosting management you can order plesk control panel using which you can easily manage the websites, emails, FTP and DNS, as well as you can reboot the VM, check Bandwidth usage, Memory Usage, Disk Usage etc.
Kindly let us know if we can assist you further.

I dont see how Plesk can be used to reboot the VPS...
Thats what I'm most concerned with - a replacement for Virtuozzo rather than Plesk.
What if the OS crashes, how do I restart?
Also can you care to explain why Plesk is 5x more expensive on Hyper-V than on the normal semi-dedicated VPS?

Hello,
You can reboot the VM from Plesk >> Server >> Power administration. Also if the server crashes and if you have the backup, we will re-install OS on the VPS and then you can restore the data.

Hyper-V Servers require a Dedicated License while VPS licensing cost is different.

With Virtuozzo, if the Guest OS crashes, Virtuozzo Panel can be accessed because this runs on the Host OS and therefore we can reboot the Guest OS. If the Guest OS on Hyper-V Crashes, then how would we even access Plesk to restart the server...?

If the Hyper-V VM is being over used and becomes inaccessible, then you will have to contact us to reboot it. Currently there is no other option available on a Hyper-V VM server which is available on a Virtuozzo server [i.e Virtuozzo Power Panel].
Hyper-V VM are based on a full hardware virtualization technology and because of hardware virtualization it is been treated as dedicated server with dedicated resources.

Thanks for the quick reply! What version of Plesk would be used for the Hyper-V?
And also, due to the more limited control over the VPS, would you say that the Parallels option is better?

Hello,
We can install any version of plesk from version [8.6 - 9.2], but we prefer to install Plesk 9.2 on Hyper-V VM.
In terms of best performance, we would suggest you to go for a Hyper-V and for more features, good performance and remote administration, go for a Parallels VPS.
