Default Windows VPS Hosting SQL Server setup

Hi Eukhosts
Could you or anyone else give me guidance on SQL Server on our VPS Hosting package. In the VPS Hosting features list for Windows hosting,
( http://www.eukhost.com/windows-<a hr...a>-hosting.php ) MSSQL 2005 Express is listed as available. I have looked in Plesk and tried to add a database to my domain. In Plesk the dropdown only contains MYSQL.

In Virtuozzo system services there's nothing listed for MSSQL so I believe it not to be installed. Can you install it for me please? If I have to install it can you let me know?

Also, once it's there, do I have to worry about Plesk at all or do I just configure everything (database, and ASP.NET applications) via the remote desktop option in Virtuozzo?

If there's a set of screens or a tutorial on how to do it on these Virtuozzo VPS Hosting hosting packages (if it's any different to standard cmd prompt) then I would be pleased to know where it is. (Haven't found one yet).

Cheers
Tyrone

Tyrone,

By default windows VPS Hosting dose not comes with the MSSQL Server installation. Some client needs MSDE, some SQLEXPRESS. You can simply open a ticket at support department and put a request for
MSSQL 2005 Express, ASP.net installation on your VPS Hosting.

If you want to use MSSQL in plesk then you must purchase plesk power pack license. Without power pack you can not use MSSQL Server in plesk. Currently we do not have any tutorial for VPS Hosting configuration but no need to worry. You can contact to our support department if you need help.

HI all
Thanks - I will raise a ticket.
If I have access via the virtuozzo remote desktop, I don't really need the Plesk addon?
Cheers

Default Bah! Didn't send a ticket when I tought I did....

Hi
I have just checked the progress of the ticket I sent and I see I have actually used 'send an email' rather than the ticket system. thinking that I had raised a ticket.

I have run out of time so will install MSDE myself if that's okay.
Cheers
Tyrone

Default found SQL Server 2005 on Virtuozzo!

Hi
I have found SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express on Virtuozzo (using virtual desktop) and have used this to create my new database. Looks very easy to use so far...

I'll be in touch if I need any help regarding connection strings etc from ASP.NET...!
Cheers
