Wrong time on Windows VPS Hosting
Anybody know how to adjust the clock on a windows VPS Hosting. Mine is miles out and even logged in as administrator I can't adjust it.
I have tried unchecking the internet time sync. but it still won't budge!!

You cannot change time on Windows VPS Hosting. You will need to contact our support team to get the time adjusted on the node if its not set to GMT+1.

And then you'll need to have it changed again in a few months when were back to GMT The joys of British Summer Time!

Dave,
I never realised this would be so much hassle! I raised a ticket and now support are telling me that their main hardware node is syncronized and that the time can't be changed on VPS Hosting. I am still 1 hour slow for UK time when I set the timezone to GMT and enable the "Daylight Saving" flag.
The best I can achieve is to set to W.Europe timezone (which is GMT+1) and enable the Daylight flag. But, I guess this will need chaning again when the UK changes back to GMT.

What are you trying to achieve by setting the clock to the exact time? If it's specifically for your website hosting or w/e couldn't you write a script to subtract the one hour?

I suppose it is always good to have the server time set to the local time where the server is - I don't know whether SteveR needs it specifically for something though flesso.
The fix you have suggested SteveR seems like the best option if support can't do anything to correct the problem.
You will have to tell us how you get on and what you chose to do in the end .

Flesso. I don't want a 'special' time really.
I believe the core time, GMT, should always be correct (ie. set to GMT). Then whereever you are in the world you just set the timezone (and daylight saving) accordingly and the operating system will adjust the clock correctly.
All I was asking was the that core time be set to GMT. Now support are in affect saying this can't be done so what I've got now is a fudge of sorts because I have to set my timezone to Western Europe to get the correct time.
On my Dedicated Server if I move the timezone to GMT the clock is 1 hour slow (even with the Daylight Saving change checked to account for British Summer Time). I believe this is wrong!!! But...I suppose it doesn't matter for a website hosting

Support say it is a "feature" with VPS Hosting but they are working with swsoft to try and address it. I'll just leave it in W.Euprope timezone for now.

Ah right - at least you have got a temporary fix. But I agree with you that it could be annoying - especially when the time goes back and forward an hour and you have to do it manually.

Steve ,
Please check it now. We have set time synchronization on main node and corrected the server time. Also we have set the GMT UK time zone on your VPS Hosting. We kept VPS Hosting RDP session for you to check this.
The ACTUAL time itself is managed from the hardware node. An individual VPS Hosting cannot change the system time, but they can adjust their time zone from the Virtuozzo power panel.

Hopefully that has solved your problem now Steve and you don't have to botch it by setting the wrong timezone!
