Default Email Issue

About half of the office can not view their emails through downloading them through pop3, I have contacted support who state there is nothing wrong with the server, yet as i have a personal email account set up and have no problems connecting the the one.com pop3 server so i believe this rules out local issues

can anyone shed any light - the connection starts to download the email but never actually completes the email - normally timing out

clearing out the emails does not make any difference

What is the IP of the server you are hosted on? Also, what is your domain?

The POP3 server seems to be running here as I'm able to telnet the server on port 110 and get a response. I would ask support to restart the POP3 service if I were you. If that fails to rectify the situation then the only other thing I can suggest is that you reconfigure your email client to use IMAP.

Some IPs were blocked in firewall on your server due to multiple invalid POP3 connection attempts. I have cleared those and pop3 server has been restarted so please request your office staff members to check once again.

Thanks Mark,

Just a quick question for you to ask the support staff, is there any reason why when i raised the ticket they said all was fine without checking the firewall?

oh and how would i clear the firewall out in the future to save raising a request

Hello Nathan,

Nothing was wrong on the server but as you said that your office staff had problems so I simply cleared firewall IP deny list. it was showing some blocked IPs which were listed for invalid login attempts but it was difficult to figure out if any of those was your office staff IP.

You can clear firewalled IPs by removing content filled upp in "Firewall Deny IPs" from http://87.117.224.170:2086/cgi/addon_csf.cgi

Make sure that you save and click on "Restart Firewall" once you remove those blocked IPs.
