Mail Traffic - Server sending spams

Hello everybody.

Does anyone knows how to check the mail traffic on server?.. It seems that it is sending spams so if anybody could help me, I would be very grateful.

Edit : I found it. It was in the WHM. Well one issue solved. Could anybody help me determine if my server is really sending spam emails. Thanks again

Hello Stephan,

You can check incoming and outgoing mails on your server with the help of following command.

tail -f /var/log/exim_mainlog

It shows you all incoming and outgoing mail on your server.

You can run that commend using SSH. You can download an SSH client to do this by clicking the link below:

PuTTY Download Page

Once you've downloaded this, login to the server with your root details and then type the command in the previous post.

Does anyone have another solution that doesn't involve installing third party applications on the server?

Hello Stephan,

If you are referring to SSH client, you don't have to install it on your server. You have to download SSH client on your local machine though which you can access your server and execute the command eUK-Ralf gave you in his first post.

BTW, the command won't cause any harm and will show you the flow of emails on your server i.e. the incoming/outgoing emails along with their email accounts and many more things...
