Do you allow VOIP (Voice Over IP) on your Linux Dedicated servers ? will your support department configure VOIP on my server or I will have to do it on my own ? What are the charges for having VOIP on the server ?

Thank you for the quick answers. I want to know if you allow VOIP on your VPS or a Semi-dedicated server ? I am asking this as a VPS is quite affordable in comparison to a Dedicated server and I can afford a VPS easily.

I wouldn't recommend a VPS/Semi Dedicated server to be used as a VOIP server because VOIP server takes up quite a lot of memory and cpu which are limited on a VPS. A dedicated server is the best recommendation for a VOIP server.

Thank you for your quick reply Ryan. I was wondering whether it is necessary to have a control panel with the dedicated server if I want to have VOIP on the server ? Will the presence of control panel effect the performance of the server ?

Using a control panel on a Dedicated Server or on any server is always a good option. It helps you to efficiently manage the server. 70 to 80 % of your tasks can be managed by using a control panel. So it is always a good choice to use a control panel as it saves your time and energy.

In general, a control panel can provide you with major advantages and unless you have server administration skills, you will be at a disadvantage if you don’t purchase a control panel license with your dedicated server.

Yes Ryan, I second you on that. If you are a new webmaster then you can cosider the control panel as your guide for server administration. Automated Configuration and Automated Installation can be done with just a few clicks from the control panel. You will have all the server stuff at your finger tips.

Even if you're experienced, it can be a lot faster and simpler to make changes through a control panel instead of having to do everything through SSH etc.
