Unhappy Reverse DNS Propagation Time

On Friday morning the 9th May I asked Support to set up a Reverse DNS for my Semi Dedicated Windows Server IP's 92.48.70.26 and 92.48.70.27, i was told this would take about 30 minutes.

Yet on Saturday and now today Sunday I have customers emailing me saying there emails are being bounced, each time the problem is a lack of a reverse DNS. The inability to get this fixed quickly is hurting my business reputation.

How long should it take for the revere DNS to propagate or as I suspect has this not been done?
Is it possible to set this up my self through CPanel or not?

Jon

It’s not possible to set revere DNS through CPanel.
Our support department has already set revere DNS for your primary IP address, please open support instance for more details and further assistance.

You can have rDNS on all IPs assigned to your VPS / Dedicated Server. rDNS is needed only on your main IP which is used for outgoing emails. rDNS on other IPs makes no difference for any of the services running on your VPS / Dedicated Server.

If sites were split between ip's, surly the both ip's would require rdns setup?

your VPS / Dedicated Server will use default IP to send emails. Dedicated IPs of website have nothing to do with the outgoing emails. Servers use only one IP as sender IP.

As exim doesn't allow you to set up individual IPs for the emails of individual domains, you only really need reverse DNS on the primary. If exim changes in the future so each domain can send emails from different IPs then you would need them on each of them but for the minute I'm not aware of any such plans.
