Default Changing .net version in Hosting Controller

Does anyone know how to change the .net version level using Hosting Controller? This seemed to be possible under Plesk.

We have only asp.net 1.1 installed on our new hosting controller servers as of now. I will have one of our windows system admins to install asp.net 2.0 as well and this post will be updated once thats done.

Just to update you that this has not been done so far as we are working on installation of some asp components and rebuildexpress backup configuration on the server.

Our senior windows system administrator will work on this as soon as he is done with the other pending installations.

Default Update?

Hi, any update on this? I know you been having problems with the server RAID system from other posts. It seems now that even a simple 1.1 script is failing. Has .net support been removed all together?

.net support hasnt been removed but RAID has been a major problem for us. We configured RAID with a thought that it would help in giving solution for drive failures but RAID in itself has become a problem for us.

Its sad to conclude that RAID is not an option in case of windows hosting as linux servers allow you to switch the drive in case of failure of primary but windows has no such option which makes no sense in using RAID for windows.

We are about to solve this problem and you will get an update to your ticket if you have one open on our helpdesk. I will give link for this thread to our senior system admins so that they give me some feedback to post a reply.

I hadn't raised a ticket, but considering all the tickets that I had raised have vanished (along with my databases) it wouldn't have mattered if I had I suppose.

I will raise one now however, and hopefully it won't vanish.

Seems like you are opening ticket from hosting controller itself. Please make sure that yo open ticket from our helpdesk located at http://support.eukhost.com only.

Hosting controller tickets do reach our helpdesk but the replies go to your mailbox only as they dont get updated in hosting controller.

Yes that's right, I opened the tickets in Host Controller. Hadn't realised this was an issue. I will use the helpdesk instead.

Default Has asp .net version been regressed?

I have been running an asp .net V2.0 web service for a month or so with no problems, but now I'm getting a server error from it. The code hasn't been changed but it's stopped working. I would raise a ticket but the support website hosting appears to be down http://support.eukhost.com/. Can anyone help?

Last night we were performing some maintenance work on our helpdesk server and you must have tried to access it at the same time.

We didn't receive any thread notification as well during that time as the email service for eukhost.com is on the same server.

Please let me know if you face any problem in getting this sorted from our support staff and I will take care of things if needed.

So there is no .NET v2 support yet? nor is MS SQL2005 I guess.

Waiting for confirmation, a client is seeking these.

ASP.NET 1 and version 2, both are available but we dont have any server with MSSQL Server 2005 as of now.

Licencing of MSSQL 2005 is quite complicated and microsoft gives licence of MSSQL Server 2005 on per user basis which is different from what it was for MSSQL Server 2000.

Default sql 2005

Appreciate it's complicated - but I also have a client asking for it - any chance of getting it? as an extra charge??

It wont be possible on a shared server. We will need to setup a new server or a separate server reserved for MSSQL Server 2005. If your customer is ready to purchase single user license for MSSQL Server 2005 then we can install MSSQL Server 2005 for him on one of our servers and that servers MSSQL Server will be completely reserved for your customer.

You will need to pay additional £50 per month for this custom configuration.

MSSQL 2005 Express will work for you ?

If yes then let me know and I will ask our windows system admins to look into it. If we can install MSSQL 2005 Express with no additional expense then that can be made free for you.
