Default Kingair slow again

I'm sure it'll be temporary, but still... Kingair has been slow since 7:30pm that I know of - possibly for some time previous to that. Websites are rendering - but taking a while to do so.

In fact one php-intensive site actually timed out!

I've been monitoring KingAir for quite sometime now & couldn't find any reasons for it being slower. Neither backups were running nor any process was overloading it.
I doubt it being rather a network latency issue, as one of our other subnets faced a massive DDoS which was brought under control quickly.
Could you pleas check if this has been resolved now ?

Server seems fine this morning but has now slowed down again - 10.30am. Sites are taking around 10+ seconds to connect rather than the preferred and usual 'instantaneous' connection.
My internet connection is very fast and very stable so it is the kingair server that is slow. In a few minutes the server speed will no doubt be back up to speed - but if I doubt somehow that I am randomly catching this sluggish period the only time it happens - I must assume that this is happening for intervals throughout the day.

Kingair seems to have been down for some considerable time this morning judging by my web monitoring notifications. Is there a reason for this? Is it connected to the variable connection rates experienced on this server over the past few days?

Have you opened a ticket with support for the new issue of it being down today? Sounds like a strange issue as normally theres a fairly obvious process causing the slowdown as you can see it eating resources. Is it possible that another user on the server is slowing it down with a miscongfigured script or another related problem?

MySQL is off and has been for a while now, its 3.45am - it may be the middle of the night - but I have clients who use their websites and expect full uptime. Any significant maintenance should be communicated.

@dps: I'm well aware of the support system and when I should open a ticket.

EDIT: MySQL has returned, but I still would like extreme events such as this to be communicated to those affected. This is the one, and perhaps only real failing of EukHost.

There's a weekly server full backup going on at the moment, this makes the server a bit sluggish & this is a normal behavior. MySQL databases require a minimum downtime of 5 mins for backing up. We've managed to backup the server on weekends & during night time when the traffic & the load on the server is to the lowest, this doesn't result into a major downtime & loss to your business.
Backups are most essential & are one of the primary factors in the web hosting industry, hence they can't be avoided in any case.
Let me know if you have any ideas on reducing this amount of downtime, I'd be happy to receive & implement any suggestion from any one

I'm happy that there are backups and am happy they take place at the least busy time period - however, I was never made aware of this in terms of the 5 minutes MySQL downtime nor of the schedule. Now at least if I can communicate this to my clients, so that they are aware and won't question a short period of downtime during this period.
My point, which has been made by many others before now on these forums, is that system maintenance down-time should be communicated to those affected. Not every week of course, but at least once, either on sign-up, or when the schedule changes.

Glad to hear it. Was just mentioning it as during stressful times, such as this one, sometimes people forget to do the things they would normally do as standard. I was merely trying to ensure that you had the least downtime as possible.
