What?????????????
I just opened a support ticket saying Kingair was very slow and timing out a lot. Normally the server is fine so I assume there's a problem you need to be made aware of. Kingair I was let to believe was one of your faster server and indeed I was encourage to move over to it when I was having trouble with eurofighter. But the response from support I have just recieved reads:
Hello,
Yes the Kingair is running very slow as it is running on his normal speed. If you would like to migrate your account on new high configuration Plesk Control Panel server then please update us so that we can go ahead and proceed further.
please check the same at your end and let us know if you need anything else .
Regards,
Alfred,
Support Department.
What?? What is he talking about - it can't be normal and acceptable for a server to time-out all over the place and to have my inbox fill up with web-monitoring error messages!! Nor can this possibly be the case for the relative new quad core doodaah wizzer webserver I was told KingAir was.
What's going on?
p.s. - I've already Migrated TWICE!!!

I'm really disappointed with such answer to your ticket.

not sure if he was talking about the Kingair server or the fighter jet. I'll have a word with some of our senior staff members from Windows Team and I will get this sorted.

thanks for the reply - I was disappointed too lol - and slightly annoyed, but it was such a stupid answer that I couldn't even get mad about it!! Kingair is still slow intermittently, and I found out today that phpMyAdmin (which has been freezing on me for days) isn't compatible with your current Plesk install - happy days indeed!!

I had a word with him and he said that Kingair is really slow and he was honest with his answer. I'm discussing with our senior windows system admins to find out whats wrong with the server.
I'll keep you posted with our course of action to get this sorted.

I know its really slow - but it shouldn't be. That can't possibly the normal operating speed (which is what Alfred's response suggests)! It is a fast server and surely this performance cannot be deemed acceptable for what was only a few months ago, one of your flagship servers. To quote flesso from a thread I started a few months back - curiously, complaining of Kingair being slow then... "I don't see how Kingair could be slow though, as it's a Q6600 server;" So does that support-member's 'honest' answer suggest that a Q6600 server should be slow?
I have moved server a few times now - always compromising in the hope that I'll be on a web server that simply delivers web pages accessible to the WWW consistently. Is that too much to ask? If I have to move servers again, then I'll probably just move hosting companies.

One reseller added over 175 domains on Kingair which seems to have created problems recently. We have notified him and his account will be moved to a new E5420 server getting filled right now. We had a serious discussion on limiting number of domains for Resellers as well as shared hosting customers and it seems we will need to do that soon. new E5420 Servers won't have any problem, no matter how many accounts resellers go on adding, but Q6600 limits can be tested easily which has happened with Kingair.
I apologize for this trouble, but we had no way to stop that particular reseller from adding 175+ websites. This will be sorted in next 48 hours as migration of his accounts will be initiated tomorrow morning.

OK, I appreciate that you're addressing the problem. Part of me feels I should migrate - but I simply can't face yet another migration. I'll keep watch over the next few days and check back on Monday - if the problem persists I'll have to re-evaluate my position, but hopefully you'll have some good news by then
Thanks for you trouble.

I think if that moves, it should help the issue quite considerably.

Hello,
Being the Quality Analyst, it becomes my responsibility to ensure that you get rational, comprehendable and logical replies. This is a slip-up. Rest assured, I will deal with it in the most appropriate manner.
King-Air is under intense watch. Jack, Martin & William - our senior windows system admins are on top of this. I will keep you all updated.

Is there any further news on the status of Kingair? I'm finding it still very slow on the whole - although erratically so.

Hello,
The big accounts will be soon moved out of King-Air. Notifications to respective customers has already been sent. I will keep this thread updated. As for the slowness at the moment, I am getting it checked right now.

OK - Kingair is now unbearably slow! Do I give Eukhost one last chance? This is the third server I have been put on within twelve months - each migration has thrown up complications which has meant considerable and time-consuming work for me to do. I don't want to have to go through that again - and like I've said earlier - if I'm going to do that much work, then why not simply move away from EukHost? So...
It is obvious that you are having significant problems with Kingair (the super-duper bells and whistles server that you were convinced you wouldn't ever have problems with) - it has been muttered that I be moved to the faster newer server - one you claim that I'll never have any problems with (hmmm). If I were to be moved to the new server would you be able to completely automate the entire process - including transferring the significantly amended mx-records (google-apps is being used for email on many of my accounts) and mysql databases and other preferences without anything breaking?
Should I move to this new server, what makes you so sure that I won't have the problems that I have encountered on the previous three servers? I'm sick and tired of watching my inbox fill up with 'website-inaccessible' messages!! Will PHPmyAdmin play nicely with PLESK on this new server? Will plesk load quickly on this new server? Or will it take me an hour to perform a five-minute operation like it does at the moment.
questions questions...

We have indentifed a handful of BIG accounts which have too many domains in them consequent to which King-Air (the server on which your account is hosted) was responding slowly.
These accounts are going to be moved to a different server which has been reserved for heavy usage. This move is going to be performed over the next couple of days. Notifications have already been sent to the customers who have to be moved over. Once these accounts are migrated, you will definitely be able to notice an appreciation in the performance levels of the server.

Well I hope so. Will this sort out the phpmyadmin problem too?

As promised, we have now migrated one customer who had 150+ domains in an account which was not even a reseller. With immediate effect, King-Air is now giving faster response times.
Even as I write, one more big account is under the move.

Yes it does seem much better - fingers crossed it'll stay like that. Not tested phpmyadmin yet, but I have downloaded a desktop app called navicat - and that's working beautifully at the moment (and somehow gets round the port-blocking problems I had with other software.
So all's looking rosy for the moment.
Thanks for the feedback on the server status too

Hello,
KingAir is running normal at the moment and it is still under observation. We have blocked few IPs on the server which were responsible to increase the traffic.
