I have a Google Maps application and a GWT application which do not work on two of my eukhost hosted domains.

The maps display ok and most of the compiled javascript works but calls to asynchronous http: request functions now fail. They used to work. Both applications still work if I port them to another hosting service.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Even better, has anyone solved it? If so, please tell how.

I am not sure if you are hosted on our linux servers or windows servers.

If you have this problem with windows servers then please open a ticket and one of our windows system admin will reply to your ticket with the solution. You can open new ticket for our support team from http://support.eukhost.com

My website is hosted on a linux server. Compare www. dalriada.org.uk/gmaps/RouteViewer.php, which now works because I have diverted that URL to another hosting service, with www. dalriada.org.uk/gmaps/DudViewer.php, which is still hosted by eukhost. The map window is OK but sidebar boxes don't fill any more.

I have sorted this problem as per your request.

mysql_pconnect is disabled on our servers to avoid overloading of mysql server. I modified code of your 2 scripts and changed mysql_pconnect to mysql_connect. There should not be any problem due to this change.

If you face this problem on weekdays then our helpdesk would be a better place to question

Well done, thanks very much. Now I will remove the redirect and revert to the eukhosted website. And I will check to see if the same tweak fixes my GWT problem on cathcartchessclub.org.uk.

I would like to know the ticket numbers which you had opened on our helpdesk => http://support.eukhost.com. Our technical people keep on insisting that support should be managed through helpdesk or livechat only and not through forums.

If you can provide me with ticket numbers then I will have something for our CTO to sort out.

Sorry, no ticket numbers. I raised the related cases on 6th Nov and 9th Dec, each time by following Get Support/ Contact Support which seemed the natural thing to do. No ticket number was issued but 24x7 Technical Support Department responded quite promptly, albeit ultimately ineffectively.

I have just discovered an alternative Support Desk/ Create Ticket route under Get Support, maybe its a pity I came to the first branch first?

Incidentally, I noticed recently that there was a new way to raise a support case via cpanel. But that seems to have gone away again now. C'est la vie.

Hello John,

I managed to find out the ticket number on our helpdesk. It was really helpful for me to prove something to our CTO and CRO as your ticket was answered by some of our senior technical staff who changed the direction of troubleshooting as it was a basic problem which was displayed in error logs on the server.
