Billing system for reseller account
I'm currently in the process of setting up a web design business and am thinking of getting reseller hosting from EUKhost. I currently have shared hosting with them and have been looking through CPanel at the two hosting billing systems which are in fantastico (Account Lab Plus & phpCOIN). I've had a play with both and I just wondered what other people used for their billing systems on the reseller hosting?
I'm looking for something reasonably cheap as I'm just starting up the business and am looking at a few customers initially. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

It all depends on what platform you're gonna go with. If you choose Windows, you'll most likely get HostController, which has a built in billing system for resellers. I take it you're gonna go for Linux, or cPanel etc. I would recommend that you use PHPCoin, and I would purchase a license to remove the footer message ASAP before the price for it goes up $1000. PHPCoin seems a pretty stable system to me, and I like the fact that it has a built in helpdesk.

WHMCS is an extremely good billing system for cPanel and WHM services.

Yeah, I was going to go for Linux as I can see Fantastico coming in handy for things. PHPCoin is the one I have been playing about with mainly as it's free!
WHMCS looks like a really good system but it's a bit pricey for what I was looking for. I don't think the overall yearly price and justifies the number of customers I'm going to have initially.

I would go with PHPCoin as Account Lab Plus needs you to buy a license to use (if you are just choosing between the two options in Fantastico).
Hope that helps .

I had spotted the license thing but I just wondered if there was anything in Account Lab Plus that justified the purchasing of a license?

Probably not, especially when your just starting out (and want maximum profit without needless expenses). It will cost you to be a reseller so do you really need the extra cost of AccountLab Plus?
I don't think theres anything wrong with phpCOIN, especially when your just starting up.
Hope that helps .

That was my thinking, hence the questioning about whether the money would be well spent or not.

Probably not if your just starting up. There are more worthwhile things you could put your money into - like better and more features for your customers and extended support .

Would it be possible to install it on a VPS Hosting account here?

Yes. WHMCS only relies on PHP and MySQL, which is fully supported by all VPS Hosting packages.

I have found out the main difference between PHPCoin and Accountlab Plus. PHPCoin does not support automatic creation of accounts on the server whereas Accountlab Plus does. Because of that I've gone for Accountlab Plus as I don't want to have the hassle of creating an account and configuring it everytime someone signs up.

I used to use WHMCS, and found it was extremely useful - possibly the best billing tool out there for hosting etc.
WHMCS offer reseller license prices aswell.
