Hi again,
Being a bit thick if someone can help me out again....
As a new reseller I'm finding my way around setting up client hosting accounts via WHM and seem to be getting on ok. Just a little confused with the details I have to tell prospective clients. i.e in a welcome email similar to the one EUKHost sent to me.
Ok...I've set up a new account for domain "www.demo56.com". The script runs through and produces this (with some changes for security obviously):
+===================================+
| New Account Info |
+===================================+
| Domain: demo56.com
| Ip: 92.48.108.xxx (n)
| HasCgi: y
| UserName: demo56com
| PassWord: xxxx
| CpanelMod: x3
| HomeRoot: /home
| Quota: 150 Meg
| NameServer1: ns49.eukdns.com
| NameServer2: ns50.eukdns.com
| NameServer3:
| NameServer4:
| Contact Email:
jockmunro@hotmail.com
| Package: dcwebsit_Centurion Hosting Pack Starter
| Feature List: default
| Language: english-utf8
+===================================+
Now I understand what this means as it's quite straight forward but am I right in thinking that if this were a real transaction where I registered the domain that the following will apply:
CPanel Login
URL:"http://demo56.com/cpanel/"
Usrname:demo56com
PW: xxxx
Temporary Access URL
"http://92.48.108.235/~demo56/"
Am I correct in thinking that the client will not be able to access cpanel until the domain name has propogated? The reason I ask is that the alternative cpanel login URL that I was provided with initially- "http://92.48.108.xxx/cpanel" - logs into my reseller account and "http://92.48.108.235/~demo56/cpanel" doesn't work. I am right in thinking all my client accounts inherit my IP address?
Also what does the "HomeRoot: /home" above refer to? If I enter the URL "http://92.48.108.235/~demo56/home/" I get a 404 error. Or do I have to wait for propogation again so that "http://demo56.com/home/" becomes valid.
I hope I have made myself clear. Any help would be very welcome as I am very close to getting all this cracked!
Thanks very much
